Pink bubbles and glitter bomb NOTD

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all ok :)

A few weeks back whilst picking up a prescription at the local pharmacy my eyes were drawn to their nail polish stand. They had restocked them and had an array of polished for £1 each. I had a really good look whilst waiting and then left without buying any. As I left I couldn't stop thinking about them (what am I like!) so went back. I only had £2 change so I narrowed it down to my two favourites and happily came away with a bright pink shade named 'Pink Bubbles' and I adore rainbow sparkles and holographicness so I bought 'Glitter Bomb.' The make of these is L.A Colors - color craze. Now for a £1 I wasn't expecting anything amazing I just loved the colours and they were great for a mid-week treat.

I've just searched Google for them and the website shows a whole host of pretty colours here. Although my 'Pink Bubbles' is a lot brighter than the shade shown on the website. I really love the look of candy sprinkles.
Pink Bubbles and Glitter Bomb by L.A Colours.
You can see a little bit of the hologrpahicness here on 'Glitter Bomb.' There were so many pinks to choose from that it was a hard decision and I don't live near the pharmacy anymore as that was my old house before we moved. Maybe they have them in lots of different pharmacies?
One coat of Pink Bubbles
This polish does look really smooth in the pictures and it reminds me of Barbie pink.

I put two coats of Glitter Bomb over the top of the pink.

Packaging:
Cheap and cheerful, nothing fancy at all but they're only £1. I do like the little chunky bottle with the wide lid but it's the colours that sold them to me.
The logo is printed in white and doesn't really stand out.

Price:
A bargainous £1

Performance:
The small brush helps to apply quite precisely and the formula is quite smooth. The polish chipped easily though and as I applied more coats, it chipped after a day .I would buy more again especially if it was a colour that I really loved the look of and because they are so cheap it's a good pick-me-up.

Have you seen or tried these polishes before? What shade would you choose?

Newly brunette- New hair colour

Hello everyone,

Finally have my Internet back up and running after moving house! Phew. Moving house is so exhausting but now we have a garden for little Alfie to run around in rather than apartment life. I sorted out so many of my items before we moved. Ten bag of clothes!

So when I moved up from England I hadn't been to the hairdressers for around three months and my roots started to look awful. I did go to the hairdressers up here but the one I went to forgot to book me in and then rushed my hair. It didn't hardly look like I had had it done. I then realised more than ever how great my original hairdresser from England was and so I went back on Christmas Eve. Charlotte had mentioned before that I would suit a reddy brown colour but I ALWAYS wanted to stay blonde. I was born blonde and then as I have got older it has progressively got darker. When my hair looks good I feel good and when it looks rubbish no matter what outfit I have on it makes me feel not as good as I could do.
Anyway I searched for inspiration and at first I was going to have dark reddy brown but also still have bright blonde put in but then I saw Miranda Kerr's hair colour and thought she looked great so I took the plunge and went for that!

I thought this would be a lot less maintenance and also my hair had started to become really dry and in quite bad condition. As it's naturally curly my hair already lacks moisture and since I've had it dark I noticed a huge difference in the condition of it already. My hair is lot softer and all I put on it is hair oil at the moment after washing. It was a big change but I do really like it. I felt like I had to wear more make up at first as I thought I looked a bit washed out but the colour suits my skin tone. Whether I stay with my dark hair colour remains to be seen but at this moment in time I have no plans to go lighter .

I love love love blonde hair but it needs maintaining so much. I think the colouring suits me but I just wasn't pleased with the regrowth although here it doesn't look AS bad as I thought it was. It felt like it was black at the roots because of how blonde it was. You can also see the pink at the tips where I dip dyed it but it stained and lasted way longer than it was supposed to!

This was when I had just had it done at the hairdressers and you can see the reddy brown in it here. It looks great condition already and it had been Cloud 9'd. I've actually got three colours in my hair. A dark brown mixed with a reddy brown and some lighter highlights at the front. I noticed the shine straight away.

This was a week later on New Year's Eve and it looks really dark here.

A Christmas day photograph here with freshly washed hair and naturally drying.

Here is the first ever attempt of straightening my own hair using my Cloud 9's ! The ends felt a bit dry so I gave them a trim.

This was me just about to leave the salon :)

Etude House- Sweet recipe- cotton wool cup

Today I am devoting an entire post to this beauty of an item!

I absolutely cute, quirky items and adorable packaging so when I saw the beauty of Etude House I knew that it was going to spark off an ignition of wants.

For Christmas I received in my stocking off my mum and dad a few make-up items too from Etude house which I was going to show collectively, but I will have to wait til I unpack them again.

First of all it's a drinks cup, then it's pastel colours, a gorgeous logo and super soft cotton wool. I love it!

I'm going to pop this onto my dressing table for decoration. I love Japanese items so much as they are unique, colourful and cute and I can see my collection growing. The only thing I can say as a slight downfall to the product is that the cup would be better if it was stronger. It's a little flimsy when you try and take the lid off. This is not a problem for me as I'm using it purely for decoration.

A short and sweet post . Sometimes photos say it better <3

Glossybox unboxing January 2014

Hello everyone!

Hope you are well :) My Glossybox has literally been delivered around an hour ago so I have taken photos whilst it is still light. I'm so glad it was delivered before we move house! Phew!

Glossybox has had a little make over for the New Year and I have to say the box itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's a gorgeous pink colour and one of those where I'm going to keep and use it to store items in.
The ribbon inside now has the Glossybox logo on it and the sticker matches the pink and black colour scheme. This box without doubt is the most luxurious looking in my opinion.

The theme of the box is 'Back to basics' to get you all refreshed to start the year all prepped.

Here's what I received in my box this month.

My camera is not picking up on the true colour of the box here as it is a really gorgeous candy pink.

The box looks pure luxury as the finishing details are gorgeous.

I like how the lid has the logo design repeatedly printed on it too. The box also arrives with the Glossy mini mag and a card which tells you product details and the prices of each item.

Here are all of the items that I received in my box this month.

First up is the Anatomicals -Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer- Wake-Up Under Eye Patches which cost £6 for a 3 pack.
I love the Anatomicals brand as they are fun, highly witty and quirky. I love receiving their products and I seem to always have eye bags these days so these will be useful to slay them!

Balance Me- Super Toning Body Wash. 250ml would cost £10.25 and I received a 50ml sample. I have used this before and it's a great brand. You can use this in the shower or use a capful in the bath to soak in.
It contains a blend of juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender essential oils.
I do like this brand but I think it's more suited to my mum. She would love this whereas I prefer pink glittery ones like Snow Fairy or Chocomania from The Body Shop. I'm not really one for natural smelling products even though they will be a lot better for me I'm just not drawn to them.

Vaseline- Essential Moisture Lotion £4.99 for 400ml and I received a sample. I do like moisturisers and use them daily. I'm just not excited about this product though. I got four body butters from The Body Shop for Christmas and I have the Laura Mercier Vanilla too so this is alright for popping in a travel bag.

Yu-Be- Moisturising Skin Cream- Full sized would cost £13.50 for 33g. This is from Japan and has multi-uses. I love Japanese products so much but I'm usually a sucker for packaging and this is plain. I already own this product as I received it in another beauty box.

Finally I received these floral slanted tweezers from The Vintage Cosmetic Company. These cost £8 and are super pretty. The tweezers would look perfect on my dressing table <3

I'm sad that they no longer do the Miss Glossy box as that was more suited to me. It was colourful, cheaper and had more make up in it. This month I didn't receive any make up in this box which is disappointing and there's nothing inside that makes me think oh wow I love this :(

My favourite items this month are the Anatomicals and the tweezers and the rest I can take or leave.
I really hope that the February box contains pink lipstick, nail polish, chocolates and a mascara as I much prefer make-up items.

Did you get the same as me this month? What do you think?

Flower pot Tangle Teezer

Hello everyone!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We're moving house at the end of this week and I tried to do some packing today and now I feel stressed and exhausted. (I only packed dresses and handbags ha ha no hope for me!) So I made myself some food and a coffee and sat down. The week after, we're getting thrown an engagement party and I'm looking for a new job soon. I used to be a primary school teacher but I no longer want to do that anymore. I've been trying to figure out what it is that I want to do. Stress free and happy is definitely the way forward.

So onto my cute Tangle Teezer. I saw these last Easter time when I went to the hair dressers and they had them hanging on a display with chocolates in the pot at the bottom and I needed one. They are meant for children I think but I would much rather have one of these than a plain one. It reminds me of a cupcake doll that I used to have as a child and I loved it. There were different colour variations to choose from and I wanted a pink one.
You can store items such as clips or bobbles in the pot part and the Tangle Teezer sits on top of the pot.
I love how it looks great as a decoration.

As my hair is naturally curly this product is fantastic for my hair. I usually use it when my hair is wet after I have conditioned it in the shower and brush through. It's painless and combs through any tangles easily.
I would highly recommend this product and if you love quirky things like me you can buy one from here.

Tangle Teezer Flower pot

The Tangle Teezer brush fits onto the flower base.

I love the colours of this one and I think I paid £12 for it last year. Mine still looks brand new and I use it quite frequently.

I think it's adorable <3

Birchbox January 2014 Tiny Tweaks unboxing

Happy Friday!

I hope that everyone has a lovely weekend. This weekend I want to stay in and watch films as next week we are moving house again. So a quite weekend is definitely needed. This week I have watched Epic and Monster's University which was brilliant! I love Disney.

Yesterday afternoon my Birchbox arrived so I photographed it straight away as it was sunny outside.
Here's what I received in my January box.

It's Birchbox's 1st anniversary this month and they have made some more little changes as they have throughout the year.
The box that it arrives in is still the same but instead of a drawstring bag to house the products in you are now met with pretty pink tissue paper. I like both ideas although pink doesn't really suit Birchbox I would have gone with lemon yellow instead. I adore pink but when I see this colour it reminds me of Glossy box.
I like the little booklet that arrives with the box as it is all about making small steps for New Years Resolutions so that they are more manageable and easier to achieve. The booklet contains helpful tips to help you start the New Year as you mean to go on. I like the design of the lemons on the front of it too.

It was so sunny that the box looks lighter than it is!

The box is neatly presented and you can see the Tiny Tweaks booklet, a little of the card that tells you the details and prices of the products and the pink tissue paper.

The tissue paper is not sealed with a logo sticker like other beauty boxes.

These were all of the products that I received inside my box this month.

I received six items in my box.

First up is the Benefit Porefessional which would cost £24.50 if it was a full sized product. I love Benefit so much and I own this primer and love it. It has a silky feeling too it and on a night out I apply it onto my skin before wearing foundation. It covers up your pores and feels amazing on your skin. I was really happy to find this in the box.

Ooooo I love hair products and the sound of this makes me excited to try it. This would only be £5.50 so if I try it and love it I will definitely repurchase. It's meant to stop frizz so this is perfect for my hair and I hope it works. Really pleased that I got this item and it smells yummy too.

The Noble Isle - Willow Song bath an shower gel would be £20 full sized which I would not buy as I think it is too expensive. I could buy a Disney top from PrimarK and 12 MUA lipsticks for that price which I'd much rather have! Saying that it will be handy to pop in my shower and use but I'm not excited about this.

Lifestyle extra- Miso soup- Costs £2.25 for 3 sachets. Now I've heard of this being super healthy but I've never had it before. I like how this product is perfect for a healthy new start to the year. I'm not sure if I will like it though. I've been wanting really naughty food choices lately.

Premae- Anatomy Nutrients Instant Renewal Body Oil- £9.50
I will use this after a shower. I do like oils and this is meant to moisturise, tone and detoxify skin.

Vasanti- Detox Nutrient- Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser- £18
I've not heard of this brand before and to me it seems really expensive. Will have to try it out and see.

My favourite products are the Tommyguns conditioner and the Benefit Porefessional. The others will come in handy but are not as exciting. I want some more make-up in my box.

Ooooo I wonder if they will have a Valentine's special? I really want pink heart nails, pink lipstick, chocolate, sweeties and a miniature perfume <3

Did you get this box? Is yours the same as mine?

Helen Rochfort 50th Anniversary Sindy handbag

Hi everyone!

For Christmas, one of my main presents off my fiance was my Helen Rochfort handbag. I already own the cupcake bag and I absolutely love it. They are incredibly unique and caught my eye from the moment I saw them.
I love the design so much how they have the metal handle to hold. I feel like a princess holding mine. I blogged about my Eat me , Drink me bag previously which you can read about here.

Now I love Sindy and always have. I love the retroness and would happily wear clothing, shoes, jewellery and adorn my house in Sindy pieces if I could find them. Helen has a collection of Sindy bags to purchase but when I browsed and saw the 50th anniversary bag I knew that this was the one. I almost bought the clutch bag but changed my mind to a handbag instead.
To me this handbag is just perfect for my personality. I need to show it off with a princess dress, jewels and some Irregular Choice shoes (which I don't yet own.) I adore quirky items and always have. I'm not really drawn to classic items at all and prefer holographic, glitter, sequins, unicorns, mermaids, neons and pastels.

So here's the beauty of the hand bag.

This is the pink stripy bag that the handbags arrive in. I couldn't show you this last time as I had lost mine in my house moves. I love the design.

Now I wish I actually had a dress on today but I pulled on my new jumper and jeans for comfort and also because it's quite cold outside!

I love the design so much and the choice of colours. My favourite being pink.

Here's a close-up of the Sindy design .

Inside the bag you receive an extra strap so that you can attach it to the sides of the bag and wear it over your shoulder instead of holding it.

Inside the bag you can see my certificate of authentication, two compartments and a zip part in the centre.

I love the finishing touches such as the ribbon tied to a bow to compliment and the Helen Rochfort logo charm at the side.

I love the clear jewel at the top of the bag too.

Love Laura xoxo
