MUA LUXE Atomic velvet lip lacquer review and swatches

Hi everyone!

Today I have a review and swatches of my MUA LUXE Atomic lipstick that I showed in a previous haul last week. As soon as I saw these lipsticks I wanted them so I bought all of them except one in the range. They are incredible value for the £3 price tag. They really reminded me of the Lime Crime Velvetines and I love that brand but they are harder to get hold of and more expensive. I think that these ones make a good substitute. For the price too I could afford to try out lots of different colours and go for different looks.

I had never tried a velvet matte lipstick before and especially one that applies like a lipgloss and dries to a matte dry finish. The doe foot applicator makes the velvet easy to apply and it stays wet whilst you perfect it to the shape of your lips. All of a sudden it then dries and feels dry on the lips. I've never really experienced the dry feeling before but I'm sure you could always add a balm over the top.The colour payoff is amazing for these velvets and I only needed one layer. Once dried, if you feel as though you have missed a part, you can go over the particular area and it blends in perfectly.

Once dried these velvets lasted for a good few hours on me which is the longest a lip product has lasted. When I swatched them on my hand they lasted for the duration of the day and only came off with a hot shower. In fact they look as though you could use them for special effect as 'Kooky' looked as though I'd burnt my hand!

So for an inexpensive product these are highly recommended as a luxe treat and I am really impressed with them. The frosted container with the black and gold make it look expensive too. The whole product has been made to an excellent standard. The only little thing I can mention is that the product looks a bit messy on the applicator even on first opening but this is to be expected as it has been submerged in the lip velvet.

Here are the swatches so that you can see the intensity of the velvet. I do like this shade as it is bright and a corally red with hints of orange. It reminds me of Mediterranean holidays.
Also the swatch on my hand to show the true colour which didn't budge all day so don't swatch before an event!

What do you think to these MUA velvets? I love them!

Love Laura xoxo

Jacava London Passion Nail Polish swatches and review

Hello!

It's getting closer and closer to Christmas and I'm so excited. I've already had a Costa gingerbread latte, bought all pressies and wrapped them, popped inexpensive items in a stocking and made a mental wishlist to go to Marks & Spencers and buy their yummy Christmas food. That advert makes me want it all!

Today I have a Jacava nail polish review in the shade 'Passion' This polish is usually £14.50 but it is currently on sale for £11 here.

Here is what Jacava state about their products ( Taken from here.)

"About Jacava '8-FREE' Non-Toxic Nail Polish Opulent non-toxic nail polish, by JACAVA London, is an '8-free' nail varnish. That's free from DBP, Camphor, Formaldehyde, Toluene, Cellophane, Parabens, Phthalates and Animal Ingredients. We never test on Animals and our nail polish is Vegan friendly. All JACAVA non-toxic nail polish uses a premium, high gloss, long-lasting and nourishing formulation to help your nails stay stronger and grow longer. Designed in London and made in the UK, JACAVA is a quintessentially British nail polish brand with a stunning, luxurious bottle & 22-carat gold printing."

Jacava London- Passion bottle
The bottle is luxurious and is a high end brand. They stock a range of other gorgeous colours that I have my eyes on but this shade I think is perfect for this time of the year. The consistency makes application super smooth on the fingernails and the regular brush makes it easier to apply due to the longer handle.
I love how it is 8-free and does not test on animals as I am a huge animal lover.

One coat of Jacava London polish in Passion.
Here I have used just one coat of 'Passion' for it to become opaque. It looks incredibly glossy and shiny and would pair perfectly with my maroon trousers and black peplum top.
Wearing this brand makes me feel completely polished to perfection as it oozes sophistication and class. I usually choose turquoises, pinks and other pastels so this shade rocks up my world a little bit.

I would recommend this brand if you are wanting a long-lasting luxurious polish and personally I would choose a more 'Laura' colour for myself next time such as Chillax , Candy floss or Blueberry Muffin.

Have you tried this polish before?

Beautyuk Glitz eyeshadow palette swatches

Hi everyone :)

I have tried out quite a few products from Beautyuk now and am impressed with their products. My favourites being the Posh Pout which I just can't get enough of. Previously I reviewed the 'Festival' palette which had much brighter colours so this time we have a more Autumnal palette which will cater to a lot of peoples' varying tastes.

Here is the *Beautyuk compact eyeshadow palette in Glitz which retails at £3.99. These palettes have been featured in Vogue previously and are one of their best sellers.

The case is very compact and would be great to pop in your makeup bag whilst travelling as it won't take up much room at all and the case securely clips to which will prevent fallout.
The palette contains ten shades which are perfect for Autumn time, especially the bronzes and greens. It also has a handy strip mirror and a dual applicator for travelling.
When you closely at the shadows they contain sparkle which goes hand in hand with the palette's name of 'Glitz.' I love a sparkly eye and these will be great for a night out.
The shadows are delicate and so I would use a softer eyeshadow brush than the one that it comes with as if you're not careful the powder tends to crumble a little. Once you do that the colours are great to work with and last well with the darker shades lasting a longer duration.

The shades all work really well together and you can create lots of different looks with this one palette. I have personally mixed the bronze and green shades together, the blues and greens, blues and pinks and blue and bronzes. The white shade needs a few coats and is buildable and is great for brightening your eyes. In contrast, the black is great for creating a smokey eye. With my blue eyes I have found that gold shades really make my eyes stand out so I tend to blend a few colours at once.

This palette is great for both day and night time depending on the colour combinations you opt for.
Overall I think it is a great product which is purse friendly, cute, fun and versatile.

MUA Matte lipsticks Peachy Keen & Pouty Pink

Hello everyone <3 The temperature has really dropped here in the last few days. It's definitely onesie weather!

I saw that MUA had released a new collection of matte lipsticks and me being me I wanted the whole set. At £1 each they are an absolute bargain. I love bargains and I love new lipsticks so I was excited to go and buy these.

My first trip into the city was unsuccessful. In the largest Superdrug the whole stand was completely empty which was so disappointing. Not to worry though I consoled myself with a trip to Primark and Topshop!
Then the other week we went to a smaller town to buy some last presents for Christmas and in the Superdrug there there were three different ones left on the shelves. I didn't like the look of the nude one as it just looked brown and I don't think it would have suited me. I'm drawn to pinks, peaches and my new love of pinky purples so I bought Pouty Pink and Peachy Keen.

I have to say I love the white packaging as white just looks so appealing. I love white gloss kitchens and white watches and now I have the white lipstick bullets. I like how you can unscrew the bottom of the lipsticks and you have more product contained inside as I've never seen that before!

I do prefer glossy lipsticks rather than mattes but as long as your lips aren't dry they look really effective. I make sure that I moisturise my lips with a lip butter /balm. My favourite still being my Koors. I've noticed that with my Baby lips I can smell the scent more the more vigorously I apply the balm! I switch my lip products up with the first one that I see sometimes. I like to change the colour of my lips up but prefer reliable lip balms.

The Peachy Keen seems to apply smoother to the lips whereas the Pouty Pink one seems to drag a little against the lips. The pink is my favourite out of the two though so I will just counteract by applying a smooth lipbalm beforehand.

Nail wraps Beautyuk reviewed here.
I love these gorgeous nail wraps too with the little strawberries on !
Peachy Keen

It applies to my skin tone as a toned down pink.
Pouty Pink is the inner heart here <3

Beautyuk Matte lipsticks - Candy, Cupcake, Pink my Ride

I absolutely love pink lipsticks- they are my all time favourites so these three lipsticks from Beautyuk are perfect for me. Pinkness just makes me happy.

The shades I have them in are number* 2 Candy, *14 Cupcake and *16 Pink My Ride - how adorable are the names! This makes me like them even more.
There are 17 colours in this collection in total so far and I'm also loving the 'Innocent' 'Passion' and 'Sunset' shades too.

I tried out the Posh Pout Lip balm and I absolutely loved it so I couldn't wait to see what these lipsticks looked like once applied.

Packaging:
Sleek black capsules that click securely.
I like how they have the colour at the bottom so that you can see the shade.
The logo is super clear as it is white print on black.
The heart makes it super cute too. I'm a sucker for cute packaging.

Price:
A bargainous £3.49

Performance:
The lipsticks are scented with mint which I think is a great added bonus.
The colours are absolutely gorgeous and are highly pigmented as you can see from the photographs.
With matte colours, sometimes they don't tend to sit well on the lips and can be drying so to combat this I use a slick of clear gloss. The one I used in my photo below was a Palmer's mint one to get the added shine. I adore all three shades but my favourite has got to be 'Pink my ride'

Beautyuk Posh Palette no.3 Festival swatches

After trying out Beautyuk's Posh Pout in 'Power to the Purple' I was super impressed with the colour, application and the formulation. I very kindly got sent some gorgeous products to review and I couldn't wait to try them out.

I absolutely love bright colours and I am drawn to them like a moth to a flame. I couldn't wait to get creative with different looks from the *Posh Palette in no.3 Festival. The palettes are also available in
no.1 Eden which is great if you like wearing nudes/ brown shades and  no.2 Masquerade which would be great for creating a smokey eye look.
Each of these palettes can be purchased from here for £5.99 which is incredibly good value. The range is also available in Superdrug, Internacionale or Select too.

I love the names of the palettes and the Festival one I received also made me think of Carnivals in Rio too. Each of the palettes has a mixture of matte and shimmer shades to choose from and each pan is generous so this will last a lengthy amount of time.

Packaging:
The eye shadows are encased in a slimline palette which clicks securely to so it would be ideal for travelling.
I really like the crispy white coloured casing as it appears fresh and new.
The logo is clear to see and I love the little heart that has been designed on it too.
An eyeshadow applicator is included and also a slimline mirror which is great for applications on the go.

 Price:
This palette costs £5.99 which is extremely good value for money.

Performance:
The range of chosen colours are perfect for creative looks.
The eye shadows are soft and really easy to apply. You only need to press gently against the pan to get the desired amount as any further pressure and you will get too much on your brush. The darker colours have a high pigmentation and the white shade is buildable by applying more layers.
The colours become more intense when a primer is added underneath them and they last longer too.
Given the price, design, range and pigmentation I would definitely recommend these.
The staying power is excellent. After catching a glimpse of my eyes in the mirror, the eyeshadow was still as vibrant hours after application.
