Beauxoxo Glitter Bow In Pastel White- Review

I absolutely love this White Pastel Glitter Hair Bow from Beauxoxo and won this just before Christmas in a giveaway that Georgie was running. It took me a good while to choose from the colour range of glitter bows as there's so many beautiful choices. I finally decided on the white pastel bow as I thought this would be more versatile and go with absolutely everything. I'd love one in each colour. The bows retail for £5 each and there are smaller ones available too for £3 each.

Beauxoxo is an online boutique which sells a wide range of handmade, stunning, hair accessories. Owned and created by the lovely Georgie, Beauxoxo was created in 2010 and has flourished. A new children's range is going to be added soon too.
Georgie's blog 'Dreams That Glitter xoxo' is one of my favourites. Great detail and effort is given with each blog post and the writing is very eloquent. I love Georgie's book reviews and her haul posts too as she is very inspirational. Not only are her photoshoots amazing quality, her communication is friendly and vibrant too.

The packaging is very well thought out and I love the whole concept of the brand. My favourite collection has to be the Glitter Heart Hair Bands .The whole styling of the model down to the sequinned, glitter make up, pink dip dye hair and the I'm Your Present Sweetheart earrings are just perfect.

The glitter bow is exceptionally well made and fastens at the back with an alligator clip. The glitter has no fall out either so no matter how many times you wear it, it retains its full sparkle.

I have worn the bow in two different ways. Here at a Christmas party, I pulled up the front section of my hair and secured it at the back of my head. The bow stayed in place all night and was really comfortable.

I love wearing my hair up in a messy bun too and wear the bow just underneath.

Overall- I would highly recommend this glitter bow as it is excellent quality and a good price for a beautiful handmade bow clip.

Denman Pink Tangle Smoother Review

I have been trying out the new Denman Pink Tangle Smoother recently and can now give you my thoughts and review on it. It is made to be used on all hair lengths and types and also extensions and wigs due to the pins being strong, durable and super smooth. The brush has been designed to give an effortless and smooth detangling experience.
The Smoother has a close-set pin patterns and this gives more control and an extra grip.
The brush is also available in a bright yellow colour too here and is priced at £10.18. Neon was widely used on the SS14 catwalks and therefore this Smoother coincides with the latest fashion.

Design:
Compared to my other Tangle Tamers this brush is much more substantial. It's feels solid with a longer handle to grip and is weightier than the Dolphin brush.
I love the bright pink colour of the brush as it really stands out and is perfect for my personality. I love the design work on it too with the lush flowing locks. The brush overall looks and feels exceptional quality.

Performance:
The Denman Tangle Smoother is perfect for smoothing, de-tangling and styling your hair. I noticed a huge difference in my hair after using this Tangle Smoother. My hair felt a lot smoother to the touch especially once it had air dried after my shower. The Tangle Smoother is meant for all hair types and lengths but I think it would be perfect for long, thick hair as it has the extra oomph when getting knots out. For my particular hair type being wavy/ curly it pulls on the hair when you are trying to untangle it in the shower and I have got used to the children's Dolphin Tangle Tamer with the much softer bristles for untangling my waves. Using  the Tangle Smoother felt as though there were many knots that it was taking out at once and it took a stronger grip to brush through my hair. This is why you are meant to brush through a section at a time and gently hold you hair above the tangle and then carefully untangle.

You can see that the pins on the brush are all the same size and are strong.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this Tangle Smoother if you're looking for an excellent quality brush which will last. The pins are super smooth but on my particular hair I feel more comfortable using my Dolphin one regularly in the shower and this one when my hair is dried and ready to style.

What do you use to detangle your hair?

Denman's Hair Fitness For Men

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well.

With Father's Day arriving this Sunday I thought I would show you a couple of small presents I am giving to my dad. My dad loves fishing and antiques so I have got him a few surprises too. He styles his hair quickly and without fuss so the black design of these are perfect for him. I have previously reviewed Denman's brushes and love them so what better way to give great quality products.

The latest range by Denman is 'Hair Fitness for Men' and here I have the *Easycare Styling brush which retails for £5 and The *Carbon Pocket Comb which is £2.50.

The design of the tools are made to optimise hair and scalp health with the Easycare brush having super-soft pins that gently massage the scalp to encourage blood flow. The pocket comb has carbon fibre infused in it which makes it incredibly durable and also prevents against static to ensure that there aren't any fly-aways. (We can't have them going out with their hair out of place can we?!) Again the design is gentle on the scalp and the wide yet narrow teeth enables a range of styles to the hair.
I love the new designs that Denman bring out and not only do they think of the design of the product, they think of the benefits that are needed for hair too.

The Hair Fitness for men is available in selected Boots stores.

Beauty Works - Flower braid

Happy Thursday everyone!

I adore headbands, braids and the whole hippy vibe so when I received this flower braid from Beauty Works, I wore it straight away for cocktails at the weekend. I sent a photo over e-mail of my hair colour in natural daylight and they coloured matched for me so it was perfect.

Beauty Works sell such a wide range of hair extensions and accessories on their website and going by the flower braid they will all be great quality.
I love the flowers on it as it gives the festival feel too and adds a cute touch to the braid.

The braid is attached to elastic at the bottom and it was so easy to wear in my hair. Once in place, it was so comfortable and lasted all night without me having to adjust it. As the elastic is at the bottom too, the rest of my hair covered it as it was underneath so it wasn't at all noticeable.

Overall it's a gorgeous hairband and one that I will be wearing with many outfits. It's also on sale at the moment too so that's perfect timing for the Summer season arriving shortly too.

Denman's Dolphin Tangle Tamer

Hi everyone!
What do you think of my new brush? It's the *Denman Dolphin Tangle Tamer . It's designed for children and has the sweet dolphin artwork printed onto it. I prefer brushes to look pretty because everything I have is like an extension to my personality. If items are plain they don't stand out to me so I won't use them as much. Is that just me or do you do that too?

I use Tangle Tamers / Teezers each time I brush my hair. I used my cupcake Tangle Teezer in the shower before I received this one but after trying it out, this one is gentler on my hair and I prefer the handle to use too. As my hair is wavy, the super-soft nylon bristles are what my hair needs to detangle gently and with ease. I use this brush after conditioning as my hair is silky soft then and it glides through my tangles. My hair was left sleek and silky and seems to be softer overall too.

The pad is cushioned with air and follows the contour of your head to make brushing swift. It is designed for children and it would be perfect to take in their swimming bags to detangle hair after a swim. The only difference I noticed from an adult brush is that the handle and the body of the brush is a little smaller but with small hands this wasn't a noticeable difference to me.

The brush retails for £6.98 and you can buy it here.

Game Of Thrones Hair Featuring Batiste

Hello everyone,
Today I have made more of an effort with my hair and based the style upon  Daenerys Targaryen, the character from Game Of Thrones, using Batiste's tutorial. The hairstyle is easy to achieve and I love Daenery's hair, she is beautiful. Mine's not quite as long as hers by far and neither is it blonde anymore but this style worked just as well.

Step 1: Spray hair with Batiste (I used the *dark & deep brown variety) to add texture. Work into your hair by scrunching a little.

Step 2: Roughly part hair in the centre. Split your hair into four equal sections and plait.

Step 3: Secure your plaits all together at the back of your head using either a bobble , clip or bobby pins/ Kirby grips. (I used Kirby grips as my hair is layered and was too short to fit into a bobble.)

Step 4: Using a large barreled tong add large curls to your hair.

Step 5: Spritz a little of the Batiste *Strength and Shine and you're good to go.

These are the products I used to create the look altogether. The make-up didn't take me long at all to do- only about five minutes.

I used the Urban Decay eye-shadows in Half Baked for the entire lid and then I blended Twice Baked into the outer corners. I adore Urban Decay as they are pigmented and easy to apply.

I started off with my Benefit Fake-up concealer and applied it under my eyes and blended with my ring finger as the skin is super sensitive here so you need to be delicate.
I quickly added Avon's Glimmerstick eyeliner in Saturn Grey under my lower lash line. I love these eyeliners so much as they glide on and simply twist up. It's much easier and quicker than sharpening pencils.
I used the peach Maybelline Babylips to add a hint of colour onto my lips for the natural look and the No7 Pop & Glow in Peach Melba on the apples of my cheeks. This was my first time using this and I loved it. It was so easy to apply and blend.
I then finished the look by applying the Desert Metal mascara which I've been enjoying using too.

So there we have my finished Daenerys look.

New Pixie Lott Batiste - Fun & Floral

I have the whole selection of Batiste's products and can't rate them highly enough. I always use them between washes as they add a refreshing just-washed scent and texturised volume to my hair. Even though my hair is brunette at the moment I still use all of the different varieties and not just the specific brunette one. I find that if I scrunch my hair, (as it's curly) the dry shampoo is blended in and works its magic.

I recently got sent the new collaboration with Pixie Lott which is the *fun & floral variety. What a fabulous pairing as it's relevant to the here and now.
Packaging: I love the colouring of the can as it reflects the style that Pixie wears and reminds me of Summer festivals too. All of the art work for the collaboration was shot by Rankin and Pixie chose the design and the scent herself. This design stands out and looks great in the bathroom / dressing table (where I have mine.)

Fragrance: Fun & Floral has top notes of Bergamot and fruity lemon, middle notes of Cedarwood and floralness with a base of musk, milk and sandalwood.
I used this today and the floralness was apparent so if you like the scent of florals then this is the one for you.

Price & Availability: The RRP is £2.99 for 200ml and is available from Boots, Superdrug (Only £1.47 at the moment) , ASOS, Asda and Sainsbury's.

Performance: As with the other varieties, Batiste is perfect for use on hair that need a refresh in between washes. It's great for hair that can get a little greasy at the roots and adds a just-washed scent. When waking up in the morning, a spritz of this can make my bed-head look presentable to face the day.

How to use: Shake the can well, then hold a good distance away from your hair.
I lift sections and quickly spray, scrunch (massage) and then brush through and style. I can then wear my hair down as I did when it was freshly washed. I also like how hair is perfumed too as hair that smells good makes me feel all fresh and clean.

Have you tried Fun & Floral yet?

Annabelle's Wigs 3/4 hairpiece Review

Happy Friday everyone!

I love long hair so much, especially Mermaid waves and when I got my hair dyed dark from blonde it has been in much better condition and has grown quite a lot now. With having highlights for so long, my hair only grew to a certain length before it needed cutting due to damage.
The thought of extensions that simply clipped/ slid in was ideal for me as you can then choose the length of wear time. That's where Annabelle's Wigs fits in. I was kindly sent the *Susan 3/4 hairpiece to try and was extremely impressed with the next day delivery and fanatastic communication to help to colour match the hair pieces. You simply send a photo of your hair in natural daylight and they will kindly advise as to what will be a perfect match. This particular hairpiece was £29.99 and there are so many styles, colours and choices to choose from.

The hairpiece arrived in a bubble envelope and was kept in shape using netting which was easy to remove. The hairpiece was ready to use straight away.

My hair before. I had quickly curled some sections here and then after the photo was taken I realised that my hair needs a good cut and colour again. My hair looks really uneven too and as soon as the hairpiece was slid in, it evened it all out.

The hairpiece is so easy to pop on to your hair as it has two slides inside to hold in place. I only used the top one but if you feel that you need a little extra hold then you can slide the bottom one in place too.
The hairpiece feels substantial in your hair and it added instant volume. After I had taken it out, my own hair felt so thin in comparison. I love how they are so even looking and add bounce. You feel that you have stepped out of a salon and are made to feel ultra-glam.
I found the video clip on the site really helpful too as it shows how easy they are to apply. You simply pull your hair back into a ponytail and leave the front section, slide in the hairpiece and then use your own hair to blend back in.

Do you wear hair extensions? What are your top tips?

My Top Hair Accessories for Spring

Happy Friday everyone!

I just can't resist a hairband whether it be sparkly, pastel or flowery I need them for my hair. I have a collection of them now and put them on a bookcase shelf so I can clearly see them all. If I can't see items then I tend to forget about them, plus they look pretty on show.

I've organised my hair accessories into sections as well.  These being metal bands, small floral halos, material bands and highly adorned ones.

Floral crowns remind me of festival and summertime and I actually don't own a full floral one. That's next on my wish list.
There's usually three ways that I wear them which are just straight onto the top of my hair, clip my front section up or wear my hair up in messy bun then place the band.

So these are my top picks for Spring. I've chosen one from each category that I own so that I can show you how I wear them too.

I adore Mermaids and this was custom made for me by InkiePocious.

So with the material ones I just pop straight onto the top of my hair and adjust. It looks neater if you have poker straight hair but with me not having styled it at all this is my hair naturally. I think it adds to a boho vibe with it not being entirely neat.

I love iridescent crystals so much and this particular one is brand new from Primark for £3 which is an absolute bargain. I love forehead bands and found that with dying my hair really dark it stands out more than it did on my blonde hair.

I love this cute little bunny eared bobble and I bought them off Ebay in a pack of two. The other one is a cream polka dot coloured one. They're quite small so I think I'll be on the look out for larger ones next. I wear my hair up in a messy bun like this quite often and it's really easy to do. It does make my hair really knotty though after I've taken it out.

I love this side InkiePocious Mermaid band. She is so talented and custom made this for me along with another one. Her shop is on Facebook and you can also find her on Instagram too. I love all of the design pieces and the pearls, glitter and crystals.

I love little cat ear hairbands and with this look I simply pulled up the front section of my hair.

This last one is a side floral crown and is from Next. I love the hot pink colour and the way that it instantly update your hair do.

Tangle Cherub hair brush review

Hello everyone!

It's so sunny here today that it's made me feel even better today. I always feel really motivated when the sun is out and it makes me want to accomplish things.

A few weeks back I spotted this gorgeously designed brush and I had to have it. It's the Tangle Cherub which is in a more compact size than the Tangel Angel and is meant for children. Anything to do with hearts, the colour pink and angel wings and I am attracted to it. I think this is the most gorgeous brush I have ever laid my eyes upon.

The Tangle Cherub is available in three different colours. These being the pink that I have , a gorgeous baby blue colour and a silver. Not only is it gorgeous to look at it but it also has beneficial properties too such as antibacterial additives, a contoured base, anti-static properties and heat resistant bristles.

I need Tangle brushes for my hair especially with it being wavy. If I wear my hair up it tends to tangle so easily and when I come to wash it, I can't run my fingers through my hair easily. I brush my hair after it's been conditioned and that way it is left tangle free and smooth.

The brush is meant to stand up too but mine doesn't seem to want to. The base must not be completely flat so I keep it in the pretty box that it is packaged in. Also as it is travel sized the handle is shorter but my hands are small so it's fine for me to use.

I used the Tangle Cherub when I showed you how the heart bun from Claire's works and it left my hair feeling really smooth and glided through my hair really easily. I would highly recommend this product if you like beautiful brushes and your tangles to be tamed.

Price: £10.95. Now I know that there are much cheaper alternatives out there but for the design and the performance this is worth every penny.

Batiste's hair saviours

Hello everyone,

It's sun shining again where I live and it makes me feel a lot more motivated and productive. I feel as though I have accomplished a lot already today.

I love Batiste and their ever growing range. My favourite and first one I ever bought, was the Batiste Tropical which has a scent of coconuts and reminds me of a faraway beach. I have been using Batiste in between washes to give it a refresh, shine and gorgeous scent.

I was excited to try varieties that I had not used before. These being the *New smoothing conditioning mist £3.99, *Strength and shine £3.99, *Fruity and cheeky cherry £2.99, *A hint of colour- dark & deep brown £3.99 (for my newly dyed locks) and the *XXL plumping powder £3.99.

On the photographs on the left hand side, I have a severe case of day old  bed head!
In the top photo I used spritzes of the Strength and Shine combined with the conditioning mist, whilst the bottom photo I have used solely the Smoothing conditioning mist.
I love both of these products and as you can see they have improved the appearance of my hair, added shine and condition and also smoothed it too.
I then finished my hair by either adding a hairband or clipping up the front section of my hair.
I would definitely repurchase these two after they have finished.
With the smoothing conditioning mist, it contains Argan oil and I soon as I had sprayed it onto my hair there was an instant softness and conditioned look.

L-R Strength and Shine, a hint of colour deep and dark brown, cherry, smoothing conditioning mist and XXL plumping powder.

I love how the hint of colour dark & deep brown compliments my hair colour as the Cherry needs blending into my hair a little. I would repurchase this one also as I think it is fabulous.

I shook a little powder at a time onto the palm of my hand and placed under sections at the root. I then scrunched my hair and it does add a lot of volume to my hair. As my hair is curly it only needs a little encouragement as it is and this made it have full volume. I wear this on nights out or to events as I feel that it adds extra glamour to my hair.

The fruity & cheeky cherry smells gorgeous. I love cherries and fruity scents so a spritz of this makes you feel as though you have freshly washed hair. The scented ones remind me of hair perfume as your hair has a lovely scent to it all day.

I would highly recommend all of these products. Each one has a little gem to offer your hair and in my opinion they are priced incredibly well for the quality and the duration that the cans last.

Love Laura
P.s I think I spoke too soon as it is now hail stoning!
