Beautyuk New Nail Care Review

Although I have a drawer full of nail polish I haven't really invested in any nail care. I just used to put the colour straight onto my nails and hey presto. All this changed though when I used a Barry M neon yellow and when I took it off I was left with stained yellow nails for weeks! Not a good look at all. 

So when I was kindly offered to try out some of Beautyuk's new nail care collection I gladly took them up on their offer. There are six different products in the range and they each retail for £3.99 each. 

Today I have the *Nail & Cuticle Conditioning Oil and the *Speed Dry Basecoat to show you. The other products available in the collection are Black Diamond Hardener, Matte Top Coat, Ultra Gloss Top Coat (which I used in this post) and a 5 in 1 Base and Top Coat.

I used both of these products before trying out a new nail polish and I was extremely pleased with the results.

Nail & Cuticle Oil:

This has been developed to use on dry brittle nails and cuticles that are rough and irritated. It is super easy to use as you simply pop a droplet onto each nail and then massage in. The oil has a citrus scent to it and I really liked the moisturised feeling that it gave to my nails. It leaves a 'just been to the salon for a professional manicure- look' on your nails with the convenience and ease of applying in your own home or on the go.

The Oil;

• Is Almond-oil based and has Vitamins E and F included.
• Protects the nail plate.
• Nourishes and restores the natural moisture of your nails.
• It softens your cuticles and is meant to soothe them too but as mine weren't irritated in the first place, I didn't feel the effects of this.
• Nourishes nails and makes them look and feel healthier.

My nails looked healthier and were nourished so I will continue to use this and it's a product that I rate.

Speed Dry Basecoat:

After using the nail oil it's recommended that you carefully wash your hands before applying any polish so I made sure I did that and then I was ready to use the speed dry base coat. 

This base coat did live up to its claims of being speed-dry as I didn't have to wait long at all to start applying the polish on top. I only needed to apply a thin layer and the results reminded me of a clear nail polish look.

The basecoat has been produced to;

• Prime your nails for an even finish that grips your nail polish and this certainly did for the polish that I applied on top.
• It's meant to smooth out imperfections but as I don't really have any this wasn't noticeable on my nails.

• The basecoat contains UV filter to prevent nail discolouration.

• It prevents stains as once my polished was removed from a bright colour, my nails were left in perfect condition underneath with no signs of staining whatsoever.

• It also protects against chipping too and this was, for me, a pleasant surprise as my nail polish usually chips on the same day but with the use of these two products I actually got three days out of my polish which is amazing for my nails.

Overall I highly recommend these products and will continue to use them regularly as I loved the results.

Primark's cute £1 nails

Happy Sunday !

It's sunny here again today and it makes me feel happier. It's my Birthday in two days and I'm so excited. I've just set up my new fish tank so I can choose two fish to go inside it for my Birthday. I have a BiOrb which is amazing and this time I got a Disney Ariel tank because in my head I am still a child!

 So yesterday as it was sunny I photographed quite a few items to blog about and in my nail polish drawer I came across these Primark £1 nails that I had previously bought. I will be going into Primark with my Birthday money soon and will probably pick up some more. I think they are a great bargain at £1 each and I love the cute designs. I've just remembered that I also have some strawberry ones which I adore but I couldn't find them to photograph yesterday.

I bought all of the nails on separate trips and every time I go in they have different designs.

Here are the designs that I have picked up so far. I think these look fab and are quick and easy to apply to finish off an outfit. The glue makes my nails a little dry though and they need moisturising afterwards. You get different sizes of nails and they can be reused as long as one doesn't ping off and shoot down a drain or something! They last a few hours before one pings off of me. I don't know what it is with my nails but nail polish doesn't last either it always chips after a few hours.

I'm sure I have more than four packets of these nails. This tells me that I need to organise my nails drawer!

These are my absolute favourites. So much so that I have two of these. I adore cupcakes and love the little jewels on them!

I can't really remember buying these ones. I think I thought Oh they're lovely they have glitter on them and into the basket they went!

These are unique and that's why I bought them! A French manicure with a mustache on them!

These are my latest nails that I picked up on my last haul after Christmas. I have a lot of navy blue dresses and these will go perfectly with them. I liked the polka dots mixed with the cats faces!

Have you got any of these nails from Primark before? I noticed that they had cotton candy perfume and gorgeous bottles of nail polish that looked like diamonds. I need some of those next time!

Born 2B Pretty

 This is the third bottle of polish that I bought from Lush Lacquer that I have chosen to swatch. As I have mentioned previously I chose five mini bottles of polish and the decision as to which colours to choose was so difficult because there were so many gorgeous polishes to choose from.
I decided to get a purple base colour as I don't own too many purples and I  definitely didn't own this shade of lush lilacness beforehand.

As you can see with one coat it is not opaque and again the coverage is uneven in some places. However, with two coats added, it changes to a smooth opaqueness.

I adore this base colour so much and the hexagonal pink, purple and green confetti inside it complements it exceedingly well. It reminded me of Parma Violets and I look as though I am wearing candy / sweeties on my nails that look good enough to eat.

It lasts a good few days before it chips and then I find that it is easy to remove. It just kind of peels off and the glitter / confetti residue has a medium sparseness so it removes with the actual polish rather than sticking behind.

Do the 'Monster Mash' NOTD

I tried out another one of my new nail polishes from Lush Lacquer and this one is named 'Monster Mash.'
I love the name of it . It reminds me of when I was younger and hearing the song!
When I saw the name of the nail polish it reminded me of Halloween time and it got me inspired to do baking and play Halloween songs. I now need an actual Halloween CD if there is such a thing!

The white base of this polish is different to any that I have in my collection and it has hexagonal specks of sky blue, bright green and pink inside. The blue and green actually reminds me of Monster's Inc.

I gave my nails  two coats at first,  photographed them and then added a further coat to ensure total opaqueness. The polish was smooth and had a creamy formula, which as you get used to it, gets easier to apply. On some nails again it was a little inconsistent ( as you can see on my little finger nail) but I would million per cent repurchase as it's something that is incredibly unique and the colours match my personality perfectly.

Polish me pretty!

I love creating these wishlists but it is taking me all my willpower to not pop them in my basket and check out. Definitely needing some of these for Christmas though with my favourites being Dollish Polish- how adorable is the little doll on the bottles?! I'm not sure if you can actually get them in the UK though and I want them so much.
My other favourites are the Models Own splash collection box set £20- the colours are absolutely gorgeous and they have glitter in- what more could I want? I own lots of these polishes already and I love them. The brand is innovative in bringing out new collections.
I absolutely love the look of the Lime Crime polishes too. I own one Lime Crime lipstick in the red shade and the packaging is absolutely amazing. It's the most gorgeous one I own.

Bubblegum kiwi NOTD

My NOTD using the B. Complete nail polish in Bubblegum that I received in a Superdrug goody bag.
This look reminds me of Hawaii and cocktails :)

The wheel of fruits  I got from Ebay for 99p free delivery.

The polish has a very wide brush and at first I thought it would be too large for my fingernails and would make a mess but actually it makes application that little bit easier as it swipes across quickly. You do have to be quite quick to apply.
The polish needs two coats as it turns opaque on the second coat.
It has a glossy smooth finish and I love this colour.
Compare to other brands I'm not sure that this will be long-lasting or not. at £4.99 I wouldn't buy the rest of the range as to me the packaging and most of the other colours don't appeal to my unicorn fairytale taste!

Do you ever find that when you add a second coat, even after waiting, it's still tacky and if you slightly knock your nails it smudges and you can literally scrape it off or is it just me?!
