Laura's Life #2

Hello everyone!

It's the last day of 2014. I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas ( If you celebrate it) and have a fabulous New Year.

Watching:

I've been watching quite a lot of films over the festive season including Home Alone to make us feel all festive. I love the church scene with the dramatic music. I also watched Noah which is fantastic and the new X Men film last night which is amazing too. Before Christmas we were watching the comedy series Trollied which is based in a supermarket. It's really easy to watch and perfect for chilling at night for a giggle.

Reading: 

I've been feeling super nostalgic and have been buying some old childhood favourites such as Enid Blyton's Enchanted Forest collection, Naughty Amelia Jane and old annuals too. I love being transported back in time. My mum bought me a Milly Molly Mandy book for my Birthday last year and that's probably what started it off. I also started reading J.K Rowling's Cuckoo's Calling book too which I've hot half way through.

Making: 

I've been making a mess with all my new presents as I still haven't put most of them away.

Listening: 

I love, love, love Meghan Trainor's songs. I need her album. I also love her dress sense too. My mum and dad said that when they saw her in her video, she was the same as me!

I also adore Paloma Faith. Her voice is amazing live.

Day-dreaming:

 About holidays and weddings.

Buying: 

All of these shoes that you see below. They were an absolute bargain and I didn't have many flat dolly shoes left at all. I used to have so many but they all seemed to die at the same time and went to dustbin heaven. The quality street-like ones below were only £3 each, the lilac were £4 and the holographic which is my all time favourite colour EVER were £5. I also got new underwear from the New Look sale which are fabulous, a lilac top from Matalan for £4 oh and the Soap and Glory Boots Christmas special just before Christmas too. Happy Christmas to meeeeeeeee.

Walking:

Through the forest and football fields in my wellies with the boys to burn off their energy. They run as fast as they can and then when I get them home, they fall fast asleep!

Appreciating:

 The beautiful, thoughtful gifts that people have given to  me for Christmas.

Trying out: 

New nail polish for New Years Eve tonight and my new black play suit.

Preparing: 

For my fiances Birthday at the end of January and my New Years outfit for tonight.

Wearing:

Onesies to snuggle up into, fluffy jumpers, deer Primark Christmas jumper which is the most cutest one I have even seen in my life. New dresses and tights!

Looking forward to: 

Seeing Wicked in Edinburgh which was a Christmas present from my fiances parents' for Christmas. I'm over the moon. I love witches, the Wizard of Oz and musicals so I cannot wait for this.

Tidying:

I constantly tidy up after my pets as they make such a mess daily the rascals. 

Cooking:

I made a chicken roast on Monday night which was delicious. My mum made the most amazing Christmas dinner ever. It had turkey, stuffing, stewed apples, sausages in a ginger and garlic marinade, carrots, roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese. Oh and sausages wrapped in bacon with lashes of thick gravy.

Drinking:

My favourite festive drinks are a Buck's fizz on Christmas day and this has now become a tradition. I love Malibu and Coke, sweet cocktails, Kopparberg strawberry and lime and Crabbies Rhubarb & raspberry.

Exercising:

Power walking Alfie and Teddy and walking up and down the department and stairs at work.

Planning:

I need to book our holidays and our wedding too! <3

The Autumn Tag 2014

Hi everyone,

If anyone were to ask me what my favourite season was I would surely say Spring/ Summer time. However the more I think about it, I love Halloween and Bonfire night so much and both of these are in the Autumn time.
I cam across the Autumn tag that Georgina from Makeup Pixi3 had created and thought I would give it a shot.

1.  Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?

I love love love flavoured coffees and my favourite ever would be cinnamon flavoured. I love the Gingerbread latte that I got ( i think from Costa) last year and it had a little gingerbread man biscuit poking out of the cream on the top. So adorable that I took a pic and Instagrammed it! I love caramel lattes too and they remind me of my friend Lucy.

2.  Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?

I wear the whole lot in Autumn time. I didn't use to like hats at all but I'm a sucker for cute ones especially with pom-poms on them now. I also get earache if I go out in the cold without one on so I always make sure that I wear one. I wear black boots too mostly and my Skecher snow boots and pink Hunter wellies are a must have. The Skechers have lasted me so long and they're still practically like new. I wore my River Island and Primark ones so much that unfortunately they died and went to dustbin heaven.

3.  Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?

The only time I change the music that I listen to is at Christmas time or for summer songs so in Autumn time I'm still in the chart music phase. I adore Meghan Trainor at the moment. Her voice is so distinctive an I love her style.

4.  Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?

I vary my perfumes depending on what I feel like at the time. The Body Shop chocolate perfume reminds me of cold weather though as I received it last Christmas time and it smells absolutely divine.

5.  Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?

I actually need to get into the whole candle thing. I love my house to smell delicious and the varying scents sound amazing. I wish there was a Bath and Bodyworks over here. Actually I wouldn't have any money left so maybe it's for the best.

6.  What do you love most about Autumn?

I love the whole spookiness of Halloween and watching movies. I love getting a takeaway and snuggling up. I love wearing onesies. I love the Autumn sunshine and the crisp leaves.

7.  Favourite makeup look?

The dolly look which consists of pink lips, blusher, eyeliner and volume mascara.

8.  What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?

I was most looking forward to Halloween which has just been and gone, Bonfire night, preparations for Christmas by buying presents, taking a trip to the Enchanted Forest next Tuesday and visiting my family.

Tag- I heart Spring!

Hi everyone,

I follow Jennie's blog over at Sailboat and saw the Spring tag. After reading hers, I decided to complete it myself so here goes;

1. Favourite Spring nail polish?

I chose these two from Primark for my favourite Spring nails. Both are a bargain at only £1 each and both are my favourite colours. The false nails are great for a polished-to-go look and I love the colour of the nail polish. Both are not long-lasting but I tend to change my nails regularly. 

2. What is your must have lip colour for this Spring?

I love pink lips, well the colour pink full stop and think this is a perfect for a pop of colour at Spring. You can get so many different shades of it and finishes too.

3. Show your favourite Spring dress(es)

I've chosen two of my favourite Spring dresses here because I adore dresses and both of these offer different things. The one on the left is from Primark and I love the colourful florals. It has an elasticated middle and is quite a small fit. The one on the right is from River Island and I love the pastels as these are perfect for Spring too. It's chiffony material and floats and I love the added corsage detail too.

4. What is your favourite flower?

My favourite flower is definitely the Bird Of Paradise as they are tropically gorgeous. I used to love Tulips too but when you buy a bunch they just flop over too easily in the vase.

5. What is your favourite Spring scarf or accessory?

This would be my hot pink over the shoulder, neon pink bag, with metal chain strap. I love bright items and this is large enough to carry necessities in. I got this from Bank off my mum for my Birthday.

6. Which Spring trends are you most excited for this year? (Make-up, fashion or both.)

I love pastels in all shades so will choose this for clothing with winged liner and a hot pop of colour on my lips.

7. Favourite Spring candle?

I don't have many candles at all so If I was to choose any scent I would choose coconut as it reminds me of holidays. I would love the Bath and Body work ones or the Yankee candles.

8. Favourite perfume or body spray this Spring?

Juicy Couture would be my favourite as I love the scent and the bottle. I like quite a few scents including the Chocomania from the Body Shop, Nicki Minaj and DKNY Be Delicious.

9. What is Spring like where you live?

It is really warm one minute, with the sun shining and I wear dresses and then the next day it's raining and freezing! Good job I've got a range of clothing.

10. What is your favourite thing about Spring?

I love the bright colours and the longer, brighter days. I love the new flowers blooming and Easter time.

11. Are you a Spring cleaner?

I tend to have a clear out at different times of the year and recent clean out are because I moved house three times. This always calls for a great clear out.

12. Any plans for a Spring holiday?

I wish! I don't have any holidays planned at the moment because I have another house move in the Summer time and this should be the last move!

1.) Favorite Fall lip product?
A: At this time of the year my lips need more of an intensive treatment due to the change in the weather. I love my new Korres Lip butter as this makes my lips feel super smooth.

2.) Favorite Fall Nail Polish?
A: Well I still stick to pastels and glitters even at this time of the year. My favourites at the moment are my Lush Lacquer ones.

3.) Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink?
A: I haven't been to Starbucks for a few months but I want to try the pumpkin one! Other than that I love hazelnut, cinnamon, cappucino or caramel lattes.

4.) Favorite Fall Candle?
A: I need one in a cinnamon scent mmmmmmmmmm.

5.) Favorite Fall Scarf or Accessory?
A: River Island cutesie hats.

6.) Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze?
A: I've not heard of the haunted hay ride or corn maze before but I would be scared stiff in a haunted house too unless it was one of those rides at Alton Towers or something!

7.)  Favorite Halloween movie?
A: Hocus Pocus yay! Reminds me of when I was little.

8.) Favorite candy to eat on Halloween?
A: I love those chocolate apples with the sprinkles yummmm! I also love parkin and a little bonfire toffee to fully soak up the atmosphere.

9.) What are you dressing up as for Halloween?!
A: I'm not sure yet! Although i love dressing up . It's fun!

10.) What is your Favorite thing about Fall?
A: Onesies, hot chocolates, marshmallows, snuggling up when it's cold outside, the getting-nearer-to-Christmas feeling.

Last night I was reading through the blogs I follow on my app and on the lovely  Jess at Unstitched and Fabulous I realised she had nominated me for the award :) Check out her blog it's one to keep an eye on :)

Here are my 10 questions that Jess asked.

 

1. What is the item of clothing you couldn't live without?

Now I know I'm probably supposed to say something along the lines of one of my sparkly or promesque dresses but if I'm being completely honest it's got to be my onesies. I never want to take my onesie off and just love being snuggly. I have a drawer full!

2. Who's your favourite designer and why?

Diana Eng's Fairytale Fashion. I love the dresses, the lights and  the whole magic of it.

Meadham Kirchhoff springs to mind for the pastels, fun nail art and innovativeness. I like fun design and either neons or pastel colours. I wear what I find aesthetically pleasing.

3. What made you want to start a blog?
I got inspired by reading other peoples' blogs and just cracked on with it one day. I absolutely love reading about beauty, fashion, crafts, lifestyle, recipes and kawaiiness.

4. Your favourite memory and why?
I have lots of favourite memories and I think the most simplest of ones make me remember them the most. Any acts of pure kindness that I've encountered and people who are there for you no matter what and understand who you are.

5. What fashion item did you spend the most money on this month?

 I bought some accessories . I will show them when they arrive from USA. How amazing is Etsy?! Love it! So I think the most expensive was only £6!

 

6. If you had £1,000 to spend in one shop, what shop would it be?

 Great question. Primark as I get excited about going there and imagine how many items you could get with that much money. What a dream! Although I wouldn't really be able to carry it all.

 

7. What's your favourite nail colour this season?
Even though it's A/W season I'm still don't really change what I prefer. I prefer neons/ bubblegums/ mintiness and lots of glitter. Maybe at Christmas time I change to gold or silver!

8. What are you most looking forward to in the next few months?
Going on holiday and going on a Sea Trek at Manchester.

9. If you could travel the world, where would you go first?
I would love to do this. I would go to USA and then probably not want to travel anywhere else after that I love it!

10. What is your favourite type of food?
Naughty things like coconut cupcakes, Nando's, Ferrero Rochers, Walker's Sensations chilli crisps, Vermicelli noodles and fruit salads (healthy yeah!)

Get to know me beauty tag

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

My hair is naturally curly. It's usually wavy unless I add holding products and scrunch it and then it's more curly. I like to have it straightened after I go to the salon but I miss my waves after a couple of days!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I always go to a salon. My hair is naturally a dark blonde but I get highlights put in at the hairdressers. I have, in the past coloured it myself and it didn't look too bad !!!

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

I love wearing my hair down and putting my hairbands on that I have tonnes of. However sometimes my hair doesn't behave so I pull it all to the top of my head and put a bobble in to keep it neat and out of the way. When my hair is straightened I like to put a plait in my hair at the front. My best friend does the best ones!

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I have a drawer full of nail polishes and do my own :) I once got a voucher for my Birthday and went to a salon a couple of times to have them done and I've had Twinkle Toes done also twice. They look absolutely gorgeous but wrecked my toenails :( will stick to just polish on my tootsies from now on ! 

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

When I wear it regularly I have to change it every couple of days because my nails chip so easily :/ need to find a brand that has staying power! I also have so many different ones that variety is the spice of life.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?

All year round with the glitteriness.  Polished toe nais look great in summer with sandals and then you get a nice surprise as you pull your winter socks off ! 

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?

If I go to work it takes me less than5 minutes as I just pop on a few products and go. If it's a night out then its about 15 to 20 minutes including nail polish! 

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Definitely my face first so that I have the base covered! 

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I am definitely a collector! I have many varieties of lipsticks, lipgloss, mascara, bronzes, blushes and more eyeliners and eyeshadows than I know what to do with! I love new collections that come out!

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

Never ever even though I own some! I tried to put them on for my best friend's hen party and somehow got one stuck to my cheek so I gave up ! 

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

No I don't. I only wear more make up when I've got a night out or it's a special occasion . I love make up but I don't cake it on.

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?

Only sometimes. It depends on whether I'm going out or not that day. Some days I just embrace the fresh faced look and my two cats and puppy haven't been scared so far.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes but I always dash so no one I know can see me. Although when I took my dog for a walk at 7am this morning there was no one around ha ha it was just when I caught sight of my eyes in the lift mirror that I thought ohhhh noooooo.

14. How many high-end products do you have?

A few that mainly I received in beauty boxes . I love Benefit and UrbanDecay.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?

I used to do this every day but now I just look through a drawer or my rail pick one item then find something that goes with it!

16. How often do you change your handbag?

I usually coordinate my handbag to my outfit so it depends what colours I wear. Black goes with 

everything and so does white so if I've been using one of those and I'm in a rush I can just grab and go, whereas if I've got more time I will swap over the contents to a colour matching one.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

I go to bed around 11pm and am up for just after 6pm. Although this is because I have three heartbeats ( puppy and two Persians that need their breakfast) 

18. How often or when do you workout?

I walk everyday and am getting back into Zumba soon. I love it !  

19. Left handed or right handed?

Lefty

20. How tall are you?

5'4"

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?

I took French for GCSE . 

22. How many pets do you have?

Three :) 2 Persians and a whippet puppy.

23. How often are you on Blogger?

I've only just started to blog but before that I was reading blogs regularly .

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Sometimes if I'm going to comment myself and if I like the post :)

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

It makes me want to buy everything ! I don't need a list , I make mental notes of goodness!
