MUA Luxe London Kooky Lip Lacquer Review

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I have a review on one of the MUA Lip Luxe that I bought a few weeks ago. The one I have to show you today is the 'Kooky' shade. I wouldn't usually go for this colour but I thought I would try something different as we only live once.

I'd mentioned before that I really liked the packaging as is looks as lot more expensive than the £3 price tag.
The doe foot applicator made the application of the formula glide easily onto my lips. It is highly pigmented and I found that I needed to add a little more onto the underneath sections of my lips as the contrast of my pink lips stood out too much.

The velvet feels really smooth and creamy to apply and then dries to a matte finish. As they are a matte they do feel quite dry on the lips. I kept on licking my lips to try and inject a bit of moisture and this obviously doesn't work. I would have been better with a clear lip balm. It lasted a few hours and then started to go patchy on my lips. I could have either applied more but I wanted this shade off as I don't think it particularly suited me! I tried to wipe it but it wasn't very effective. I really had to try hard to get it off and then it stained around my lips!

Overall I wouldn't repurchase as I prefer the other colours and it was quite hard to apply evenly on my lips. However this container will last me ages as there's lots of lacquer inside.

You can buy it here from the MUA online shop. However this shade is showing as out of stock so there may be one in store in Superdrug.

I love the packaging as they look expensive.

Oh gosh this shade looks really uneven on my lips! I think it actually does suit my hair colour but as I still see myself as a blonde it's hard to like this colour as I think it's too dark for me.

Have a lovely weekend!

MUA LUXE Atomic velvet lip lacquer review and swatches

Hi everyone!

Today I have a review and swatches of my MUA LUXE Atomic lipstick that I showed in a previous haul last week. As soon as I saw these lipsticks I wanted them so I bought all of them except one in the range. They are incredible value for the £3 price tag. They really reminded me of the Lime Crime Velvetines and I love that brand but they are harder to get hold of and more expensive. I think that these ones make a good substitute. For the price too I could afford to try out lots of different colours and go for different looks.

I had never tried a velvet matte lipstick before and especially one that applies like a lipgloss and dries to a matte dry finish. The doe foot applicator makes the velvet easy to apply and it stays wet whilst you perfect it to the shape of your lips. All of a sudden it then dries and feels dry on the lips. I've never really experienced the dry feeling before but I'm sure you could always add a balm over the top.The colour payoff is amazing for these velvets and I only needed one layer. Once dried, if you feel as though you have missed a part, you can go over the particular area and it blends in perfectly.

Once dried these velvets lasted for a good few hours on me which is the longest a lip product has lasted. When I swatched them on my hand they lasted for the duration of the day and only came off with a hot shower. In fact they look as though you could use them for special effect as 'Kooky' looked as though I'd burnt my hand!

So for an inexpensive product these are highly recommended as a luxe treat and I am really impressed with them. The frosted container with the black and gold make it look expensive too. The whole product has been made to an excellent standard. The only little thing I can mention is that the product looks a bit messy on the applicator even on first opening but this is to be expected as it has been submerged in the lip velvet.

Here are the swatches so that you can see the intensity of the velvet. I do like this shade as it is bright and a corally red with hints of orange. It reminds me of Mediterranean holidays.
Also the swatch on my hand to show the true colour which didn't budge all day so don't swatch before an event!

What do you think to these MUA velvets? I love them!

MUA Makeup haul

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all ok :)

I placed an order with MUA direct as I had seen the new Luxe lips which are meant to be very similar to an amazing favourite brand of mine 'Lime Crime.' I saw it on a great blog and Youtube channel that I follow from Maxine called Snarfcat101. I never really do anything by halves so when I saw that the shades they were available in I bought 4 out of the 5!

Now I did have to wait for what seemed like ages for the products to arrive. I ordered on the 30th January and they arrived on the 8th February. It always seems a long time when you really want something doesn't it?

I decided to order direct from MUA as they had a few items in the sale whereas they were full price on Superdrug's site. I think I have a thing for lip products!

The velvet lip laquers are only £3 each which I think is an absolute bargain and I adore getting good deals especially for great quality too. These are luxurious little pick me ups that I bought myself as a Birthday treat which is a week today! :)
The shades I have are Atomic, Criminal, Funk and Kooky. Looking back I'm not sure why I didn't order Reckless which is a red shade.

Here is my complete haul that I was so excited about getting. All of these are lip products apart from the new fur-effect nails that is in the shade 'Fluffy-Puff' and was reduced to £1.50. This is a gorgeous baby pink shade and I love trying new kits for nails so I needed this. They had it in other colours too such as blue or hot pink but this was my favourite.
In the blue box above is a maxi moisture lipstick which I've not seen from MUA before. This was in the sale too for £1.50 and I got it in the shade 'How do I look?' It's in a pinky shade and smells like sweeties.

I then saw that they had more shades available in the matte lipsticks and I own two of these already in the peach and pink so I thought I would try out the Scarlet Siren and the Wild Berry shades. For £1 each they are worth a try and hopefully the formulas are as good as my other two.

From left to right there is; Funk, Criminal ( a bright pink and my favourite,) Atomic and Kooky which were all £3 each. I wore Criminal to our party on Saturday night and I love it. The colour was super vibrant and it applied smoothly and you have time to perfect application before it dries to a matte finish. I did have to reapply it after around four hours as it started to become a little patchy. It also only requires one slick at a time as they are very pigmented. They also do not transfer onto anything either as once they are dry they stay put on your lips. These come highly recommended from me especially if you like a bright lip.I need to buy my missing shade now! I haven't yet worn the others yet as I just received my order on Saturday but I will swatch and review them when I do.

So there's my Birthday MUA haul to myself :) I think I now need one of those acrylic lipstick holders so I can actually see what I own and wear a different shade everyday. At the moment my makeup is organised but most of it is away in my drawers and if I can't see it I forget what I have.

Do you own any of these luxe lipsticks? What do you think?

Love Laura xoxo

MUA Matte lipsticks Peachy Keen & Pouty Pink

Hello everyone <3 The temperature has really dropped here in the last few days. It's definitely onesie weather!

I saw that MUA had released a new collection of matte lipsticks and me being me I wanted the whole set. At £1 each they are an absolute bargain. I love bargains and I love new lipsticks so I was excited to go and buy these.

My first trip into the city was unsuccessful. In the largest Superdrug the whole stand was completely empty which was so disappointing. Not to worry though I consoled myself with a trip to Primark and Topshop!
Then the other week we went to a smaller town to buy some last presents for Christmas and in the Superdrug there there were three different ones left on the shelves. I didn't like the look of the nude one as it just looked brown and I don't think it would have suited me. I'm drawn to pinks, peaches and my new love of pinky purples so I bought Pouty Pink and Peachy Keen.

I have to say I love the white packaging as white just looks so appealing. I love white gloss kitchens and white watches and now I have the white lipstick bullets. I like how you can unscrew the bottom of the lipsticks and you have more product contained inside as I've never seen that before!

I do prefer glossy lipsticks rather than mattes but as long as your lips aren't dry they look really effective. I make sure that I moisturise my lips with a lip butter /balm. My favourite still being my Koors. I've noticed that with my Baby lips I can smell the scent more the more vigorously I apply the balm! I switch my lip products up with the first one that I see sometimes. I like to change the colour of my lips up but prefer reliable lip balms.

The Peachy Keen seems to apply smoother to the lips whereas the Pouty Pink one seems to drag a little against the lips. The pink is my favourite out of the two though so I will just counteract by applying a smooth lipbalm beforehand.

Nail wraps Beautyuk reviewed here.
I love these gorgeous nail wraps too with the little strawberries on !
Peachy Keen

It applies to my skin tone as a toned down pink.
Pouty Pink is the inner heart here <3

 Do you have these lipsticks?
