My Current Hair Products

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've got fun things planned for the weekend.

This week I have watched Season 1 of Derek which is brilliant, funny and sad all at the same time. I also finished watching American Horror Story season 1 and Season 2 Asylum is so hard to watch but addictive at the same time.

Today I'm showing you what products I currently use on my hair. My hair was dyed from a very light blonde to a dark reddy brown on Christmas Eve and I really felt more of a shine to it. I recently needed about an inch taking off the length too as it had got so dry. My top tip for split ends is to have them chopped off. Serums can help to seal them temporarily but in the long run they need to be cut.

So these are all of the products that I use at the moment. The only one that I have forgotten to photograph is the Aussie leave in colour conditioner. 
The flower on the left is my Tangle Teezer and I use this in the shower whilst my conditioner is on my hair. It's really effective at taking all knots out of my hair without hurting at all.
My Tangle Cherub is perfect for when my hair is dry and I want to wear my hair up. It smoothes and glides through my hair really easily and I absolutely love the design of it.

The shampoo that I am using at the moment is the little bottle of Kerasilk that you can see here. It makes my hair really smooth and less dry.
I change between using the Kerasilk daily mask with the Charles Worthington strength and repair mask.
The Tommyguns conditioner smells absolutely gorgeous but sadly for me it just doesn't make my hair feel soft. If I just use this and then let my hair dry naturally, mt hair feels really dry.

I recently used John Frieda hair dye mousse and the conditioner that comes with it makes my hair ultra soft. I love it! They give you a couple more uses after you have dyed your hair so I'm glad there's some left.

The YOLO by Anovia is a deliciously scented bubblegum. It's a hair and body wash which I use as a shower gel. It reminds me of the ice cartons that I used to buy from the ice-cream van which were bubble gum flavoured!

I always use Argan oil/ berber oil towards the ends of my hair and let it dry naturally. I pour a generous few drops onto my fingers and then scrunch into the ends of my hair. The other products that I use to hold my waves a little is the Paul Mitchell Hydrocream whip which is like a non-stick mousse. This is really effective on my hair.

Between washes I always make sure that I use one of these products from the *Batiste range which I have previously reviewed here. They have such a wide range and they work wonders to refresh hair.

Floral, Monochrome and Oriental Batiste - Dry shampoo review

Hi everyone :)

Today I have new editions to show you from the Batiste brand. These being the *Floral, *Monochrome and *Oriental versions. On their website I love how they have the woman's hair blowing and moving from the freshness of Batiste. Check it out here. I'm also a fan of their Facebook page which has a massive 122k fans here.

When I think of dry shampoo I automatically think Batiste. It encompasses freshness, fun and freedom.
I tend to wash my hair every other day as with my wavy hair, If I wash it too much I find that it goes too fluffy. That's where Batiste dry shampoo lends its role. In two weeks time I am having my hair coloured beautifully by my lovely hairdresser Charlotte who is back in England where I lived. I am under no illusion that my hair at the roots is an eyesore right now but that should soon be sorted out!  So with my hair I tend to find that the roots need some freshness sprayed onto them whilst the ends can be quite dry.

Batiste provides the freshness almost instantly after a quick spray at arms length and a quick scrunch of my curls I am good to go after accessorising with the perfect accessory to tame my mane.
The first time I came across Batiste I had seen the advertising and was drawn to the fun packaging that looks great out on display. The first one I bought was the Tropical version and that still today is my absolute favourite. Coconutty goodness and memories of holidays is what it portrays to me.

As my hair is blonde I find that the spray , because it sprays white, helps to blend my roots which is an added bonus and the array of different scents available make your hair smell fresh, clean and good to go.

 The design on the cans are beautiful, eye-catching and would suit a range of personalities.

These sprays are 200ml and cost £2.99

 On the reverse of the cans there are easy to follow diagrams to help you use the product correctly.
I usually lift sections of my hair, spray around 30cm away and then scrunch into my hair. I find that it adds volume and texture too.
This is how Batiste recommend you to use the product;

"How to use: Shake the can vigorously, then, keeping the nozzle about 30cm from your hair, spray into roots, lifting sections for maximum coverage. Massage through with fingertips and then brush and style."

 Batiste Oriental £2.99 for 200ml which I think is a great price as a can this size lasts me quite a long time so you are getting not only great quality but good value for money too.
The can design is gorgeous and intricate and really shows an oriental vibe.

This has fruity top notes which include Apple, Wild Berry and Grape, floral middle notes of Jasmine, and Iris and a base of rich Coconut, Sandalwood and Cedar. Lots of scents have been combined to create the fragrance trend of light floriental.

Monochrome 200ml for £2.99 Exclusive to Boots.
" With a retro 60’s vibe, the bold geometric monochrome look is inspired by Moroccan prints and is in perfect sync with fashion’s two-tone palette this season. 

The bold design is reflected in the spicy and dynamic fragrance with top notes of Orange Blossom and Pepper, a heart of Hyacinth, Iris, Lilac, Wisteria and Heliotropine with a warm base of Musk. "

This is the one I actually used in the picture and although I prefer fruity, chocolatey, coconutty scents I was pleasantly surprised with this one. When I look at this can it reminds me of Twiggy with the print of one of her dresses.

 Batiste Floral 200ml usual price £2.99 and exclusive to Superdrug on offer for £1.48 at the moment.
Look how pretty the design is! This has top notes of Blossom, a heart of  fruity Melon, Orange & Peach and a deep floral base of Rose, Muguet and Violet. What a gorgeous combination of scents that makes your hair smell fresh and ready to accomplish the day. This one reminds me of festivals and picnics.

 Here I have bed-head and no make-up although I have my dress on ready to go! I was at a Christmas party the day before and then had a house-warming on the Sunday so I used Batiste Monchrome after I had showered and dressed for speed and the results are in the final picture.

 Here I have the sparkly accessory ready but changed my mind to a different one as this one didn't sit right on my hair.

 Here I simply tipped my head upside down and you can see where the Batiste has sprayed on which is great to help hide my roots! I then used my fingers to scrunch an blend the Batiste in.

I popped the Bow hairband on to tame the mane, popped some make-up on, a little *Argan oil on by DGJ organics et voila!

Overall, I would highly recommend Batiste. It works, has a variety of scents, smells incredibly fresh and is fantastic to freshen up hair.

DGJ Organics King of Colour Glossy Blondes Shampoo & Conditioner + Berutti oil review

About:
  DGJ Organics was developed by celebrity hairdresser Daniel Galvin Junior a decade ago when there were no other organic hair products available. The same formulas, which have been rigorously tested and approved by Daniel himself, are still used today.

I kindly received the *DGJ Organics Glossy Blondes shampoo, conditioner and Berutti oil to try and have used them each hair wash since I received them over the past week.

The DGJ Glossy Blondes shampoo and conditioner retail on their website here for £5.99 each whilst the Berutti oil costs £7.99 for 30ml.
As my hair is highlighted and coloured, the shampoo and conditioner were perfect for my blonde hair. They both contain organic lemon peel and chamomile to enhance your blondeness and to make your hair glisten using light reflecting properties.
Both shampoo and conditioner were scented freshly and were very pleasant. I love how they are organic so you know they are doing you hair the world of good.
The shampoo and conditioner and easy to squeeze out of the container and I like how they are colour co-ordinated depending on hair colour. (A brunette version is also available.)

Glossy Blondes shampoo, conditioner & Berutti oil.

Natural hair - no styling just Berutti oil scrunched in.

The Berutti oil contains a generous amount as you only need to pump a small amount to use each time. I scrunched it through the whole of my hair, ensuring that my ends were reached. My hair needed an injection of shine and to reduce frizz and this is what these three products by DGJ have accomplished. My hair feels more manageable, frizz-free, softer and glossier.

I would definitely recommend these products.

RICH pure luxury instense moisture shampoo

I have almost used all of this RICH pure luxury intensive moisture shampoo and therefore I can give it a thorough review. I'd not seen this brand readily available before and on researching to find where it was stocked,  I found that it is based in Champs-Elyesées.

Packaging:
The shampoo is enclosed in a medium- thickness plastic tube with a secure screw bottom lid.
The shimmery gold tube makes it appear expensive as it reminds me of royalty.
The logo is elaborately adorned and features a crown above the 'RICH' text.

Price:
You can buy it direct from their website for 12.90€ for 250ml.
I only had a 80ml tube and it lasted me for quite a while.

Performance:
Here's what they have to say about their product;

" A truly extravagant daily shampoo that delivers intense moisture & shine.

This sounded perfect for my hair type as being naturally curly it needs moisture as it can get dry and also I have highlights too.

I found this to be a thick, moisturising shampoo that did leave my hair feeling softer and a lot shinier when it caught the light.
The scent  is reminiscent of a hair salon with the professional aroma and I find it very pleasant to use.
It does add a little moisture to my hair however I feel that maybe if I used the rest of the products together in the range this would increase the performance it has for me and it does actually state this on the back of the packaging.
I wouldn't say that it repaired my damaged hair as the only way to do this is with a haircut but it can improve the texture and shine temporarily.

I would definitely repurchase this again as it is a luxurious shampoo and it has great features that actually work.

Joico colour endure violet shampoo

Joico color endure violet shampoo

I bought this Joico shampoo from my hairdressers as I have blonde highlighted hair and it is used to neutralise any brassy tones you may have.

I use this once a week and use shampoo and conditioner also. As I only use a two pence sized amount per time this has lasted me absolutely ages and they have now changed the colour of the bottle from purple to red.

 I bought it for £12 and for the amount of time it has lasted, is an incredibly good deal.

Here's what Joico state about their product.

"Violet shampoo that cleanses and maintains the hue of cool blond, highlighted, bleached or gray hair.
Neutralizes unwanted yellow or brassy tones with a high level of violet dye.

Packaging:
Great quality and very professional. The Joico logo is simple and clear to read and see. I like how the bottle is purple and how it corresponds to the shampoo inside.

Price:
£12.95 which seems expensive however the duration is excellent and it is a great quality brand.

Performance:
I have been using this shampoo for a while now and it has excellent results.
The scent is lovely and you can just tell it's from a high end line. It has a really bright violet colour and works wonders. I do still use a regular shampoo alongside it as I feel that I still need something to 'clean' my hair whilst this takes away any brassiness that I may have had.

Plus-points:
The results of the shampoo are excellent.
The quality of the brand and product.
The scent is gorgeous.

I would definitely repurchase this again!

Charles Worthington Salon at home shampoo & conditioner

To me Charles Worthington London is a well known brand and I have used their products in the past.
My hair, with it being highlighted, desperately needed some t.l.c and that's where these products came in handy.

My hair is naturally curly and changes between curliness, waviness and as limp as a lettuce! It can also go from well conditioned to really dry and in desperate need of moisture or really fluffy.

I'm always on the lookout for the perfect mane tamer. I need something that adds moisture and shine whilst holding curls and taking away any frizziness and fluffiness.

So today I'm going to be reviewing the Salon At Home Straight & Smooth shampoo which retails at Boots for £5.99 and the Shine Booster Conditioner also £5.99 and both contain 250ml of product.

Packaging:
Very professional looking bottles with a small bold logo at the top and a large 'Salon at home' title to distinguish from the rest of the products in the range.
The containers are made of soft plastic that have quite a squishy feeling.
There is a plastic cap closing at the bottom which does its job but after lots of use I'm not sure that they will click securely as there's not a strong click on them from being brand new.

Price:
For the quality of the shampoo and conditioner I think £5.99 is a fair price for these. I was expecting them to be more expensive than what they were.

Performance:
The shampoo and conditioner have a gorgeous scent to them. It smells as though you are actually in a salon when you are using these. As they are from the same brand but from a separate range they have different scents but both smell incredible.

The shampoo, which is a smooth & straight one, states that it is ideal for wavy and frizzy hair which is ideal for me. It is supposed to have total frizz defiance, resistance from humidity and have a smooth and sleek touch which I can say from using this for a week or so is on all counts true. My hair is a lot smoother and my waves are more defined.

The conditioner, which is from the shine booster range, states that is ideal for normal hair and it gives a shine boost, exceptional smoothness and has extraordinary light reflection.
From using this after the smooth & straight shampoo I can say that it has made my hair a lot smoother than what it was before. You can feel this as soon as you put the conditioner onto your hair and after I left it for around 3-4 minutes it left it super smooth. I would say it has left my hair a little shinier as my hair type and colouring lacks shine usually but this has given it a little boost.

I would definitely repurchase these again after they have been used up.

Plus points:
The scent of the shampoo & conditioner.
The well trusted brand.
The results of the smoothness.
