Barry M Aquarium Nail Polish Collection review

Hello everyone,

As soon as I saw the new Barry M collection 'Aquarium' I knew that it had to be mine. This encapsulating set comprises of six Mermaid-esque colours that captivate your imagination. The six shade names are; Mermaid (A glitter blue and gold top-coat full of shards) Treasure Chest (Gold glitter shards topcoat) Caspian (A golden, bronze Mermaid's hair colour) Mediterranean (A pink/ orange Mermaid scales shade) Arabian ( A green sea shade) and finally Pacific (An ocean blue colour with a hint of sea green - the opposite to Arabian.)

There are four mirror two-tone polishes in the collection and two glittery top coats. The design of the bottle is beautiful too complete with mermaid scales.
The polishes retail for £3.99 each or you can get them on offer at either Boots (Buy one get one half price) or Superdrug (2 for £6)

The collections has a variety of shades to truly capture the Mermaid look. My personal favourite shades are Mediterranean, Pacific and Mermaid. I have shown the topcoats on their own and they also look effective on top of the other colours too.

The polishes are smooth to apply and needed quite a bit of drying time in between coats or else they will smudge. I really love the effect of these polishes and the collection was a huge selling point for me. Anything to do with Mermaids, I absolutely love.

Which is your favourite shade?

Love Laura xoxo

Clothes Show presents haul

I absolutely love going to the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and usually go with my mum for a Christmas treat. We decided not to go this year and I really missed it. One of my mum's colleagues said that she would pick us some goody bags up which is an amazingly kind and selfless thing to do and I can't thank her enough.
My favourites are the pink zone which houses all of the make up and the fashion show which has amazing routines and is uplifting. I usually go crazy buying all of the goody bags going.

I really wanted the Models Own limited edition turquoise glitter polish in 'Showstopper' and got two of these. This polish looks amazing on too.

Here's what my mum bought me for my presents.

I was lucky to get four make up goody bags; 2x Models Own, Jelly Pong Pong and Barry M.

Here's the contents of my Jelly Pong Pong bag. The stand at the clothes show always look absolutely gorgeous with glitter and butterflies and they show you the contents clearly in a glass case. Their make up is usually expensive so I love these goody bags as you receive a selection of their make up. They have changed the gift bag that they are contained in too this year and I prefer it as it's prettier.

Here's my Barry M goody bag. Each year they change the container that the make up is in and it's usually a make up bag.
These are all the goodies that are contained inside and they each vary slightly as my mum got one too and she has a few different polishes.

These are the contents of the Models Own goody bag. I usually just choose the polishes for my bag but my mum's friend chose me a cola lip gloss and a bronzer too. I have lots of Models Own polishes and they are always bringing out new collections. I was over the moon to she had picked up a splash landing polish for me too and I also didn't have the pink glitter one either. My favourite polishes are glitter as I just add another coat when they start to chip, they look more effective and they are longer lasting on me too.

As well as choosing polishes you also get a bag of goodies too which includes a lip gloss, eyeliners, nail buffer, limited edition polish and eyeshadow applicators.

I can't wait to try out all of these items and as you can see I love glittery make up!

Barry M Matte Nail Paint - Vanilla

Hello everyone,

Today I have more nail posts to share. The first one is * Barry M Matte nail paint in Vanilla which I received in my AX Paris goody bag from Etail PR. In my collection of nail polishes this is the first matte one that I have owned. I love trying new nail polishes and the innovativeness that they keep on bringing out. These particular matte polishes from Barry M are a collection of coffee colours that are new out and are geared towards the grunge look. I love the vanilla shade as I don't like brown shades on my nails they're just not me.

Have you seen the Barry M Nail Christmas collection that they have brought out? I saw it on their Twitter feed and fell in love. Oh my goodness that collection of colours makes me go weak!

So even though my nails are a lot shorter and I applied this like I'd applied nail polish for the first time ever, I thought I would share it anyway. I have to say I love it. Even though it's not a colour I would buy myself I actually like the nude shade as it looks classical and will go with many outfits.

The polish retails for £3.99 and you can buy it here. Now I have looked at the rest of the range, I want quite a lot so I have clicked off the website now. My theory is if you can't see them then you can't be tempted because I have the willpower of a chocaholic in a chocolate factory.

Barry M Matte Polish in Vanilla

Oh Christmas tree Oh Christmas tree!

Gorgeous matte finish.

I painted this on yesterday and I don't know whether I was out of practice or what because I applied it quite messily. I was amazed by how the polish looks regular and glossy and then as if by magic, it dries to a matte! I really like this effect.
I decided to put two coats of it on and that's when it went wrong and super messy. One coat of this polish was definitely enough coverage for my nails. I usually find that if I apply more than one coat, even after waiting for it to dry properly, it has that sticky effect and smudges. Next time one coat is the way to go.

I adore this polish and want it in pink, peach or mint if they had it.

Have you used matte polishes before?

Inside my AX Paris goody bag !

I got invited to the AX Paris party and I would have loved to have gone but I live around 8 hours away! I love their pretty dresses so much and own some in my wardrobe :)

On etailPR FB page they were running a competition to win 1 of 10 goody bags from the event and I was so excited to receive an e-mail letting me know that I had won one.

The parcel arrived this morning and here are photographs of what I received and my first initial thoughts of each product <3

Thankyou so much to etailPR and AX Paris I need to buy a dress from you for the party season :)

Canvas shopper with AX Paris logo.

All of the items came inside this re-usable shopper with AX Paris' logo on. It was exciting to find out what was contained inside.
Branded goodies.
I saw the yummy branded biscuits and will share these later on with my other half when he finishes work ! Yum- a nice touch! I like how they are tied with the cute pink string and wrapped. They look too pretty to eat!
All of contents included.
I emptied all of the items out and saw all of this <3 It's like receiving Christmas presents. So lucky !
Zoeva makeup brush.
I've not heard of this brand before and I don't own too many make up brushes. I took this out of the posh packaging and oh my!!!! The brush is super soft and lush. I absolutely love it. I could just sit there stroking it haha!
Mousse and skin care.
Pleased to receive some mousse spray as this will be great on my wavy hair. I've not tried this before but I love the hot pink packaging.
I'd not seen this cream before but can't wait to try it out as it has Argan oil in it.
Teapigs superfruit, Neal & Wolf, Collection eyeliner, Dr. Lipp cream
I love Neil & Wolf they used to have all the products at my last hairdressers. They smell gorgeous and have great results so my face lit up when I received these sachets of shampoo and conditioner. I will have lush smelling hair!
I like how the Teapigs is full of superberries . I will try this but whenever I see hot fruit drink they remind me of Lemsips and I cannot drink them for the life of me! I can taste the paracetamol and they are just yuk! They make me feel worse. However this will make me feel better!
I already have two samples of Dr.Lipp from my beauty box subscriptions but another one will be handy.
The Collection fast stroke eyeliner will come in very handy for parties. I love to wear liquid eye liner for nights out. I don't tend to wear it for everyday use but it looks super-glam when I dress up- which I love to do.
Gem rock and infinity ring
Love , love , love <3 I've not heard of Kukee before but I certainly have now. I need to check out some more of their items as I love these.
I love crystals and gems sooooooo much and I haven't taken this ring off yet. It's super sparkly and gorgeous <3
I also love the infinity ring- it reminds me a little of the tv series Revenge which is also amazing (although they have double infinity) This would be a fab gift for Valentine's Day to show everlasting love <3
Kukee rings

Scratch nail wraps, Barry M matte nail polish and Kolor cubes nail polish.
Looooove nail wraps. I've got lots to try out waiting already! I've not heard of scratch before but I am impressed with the geometric designs of these. I'm usually a Barbie girl but I have tendencies to change up my style frequently. I love how effective these are going to look.
Can't wait to try this Barry M Matte nail polish! I love a bit of Barry :) Even though this is not a colour I would choose myself I really really like it!
I've not heard of Kolor Kubes before but I like the chunky cube bottle and the colour will be great for the festive season.

Yay! Love my goodies so much !

Thanks to etailPR, AX Paris and the sponsors and people who put these goody bags together.

Laura xoxo
