Miss Glossy Box Unboxing Nov/ Dec 2013

Hello <3

My Miss Glossy arrived yesterday and it was the November/ December one and came in a red drawstring bag this time which is very festive. I look forward to getting this beauty  bag very much as it is fun and colourful. I think it is meant for a younger target audience but I am young at heart and I love it.
Miss Glossy is out every two months and I am subscribed to it. It costs £7 for the beauty box/bag which I think is a good price.

The theme for this box is to get through the winter months in style with a clear complexion, stand out eyes, fresh scents and attractive nails.

Here's my unboxing and my first initial thoughts on the products that I received.

I love how Miss Glossy box send out the items every two months in a different coloured bag. I'm not a 'red' person but I loved this bag as it made me even more excited for Christmas time. You also get a card with a message and on the back the prices and information are stated about the products.

Here are all of my products contained inside the bag this month. I received five different items this month.

These are my favourite product this month. I absolutely love the retro design and I really like nail wraps as they make your nails look special for an event/ night out. I haven't seen the other Little Mix nail designs but these ones must be based upon Jesy's cartoon dress she wore. These cost £6.

I am impressed with this as it is a full sized product and it will be really useful as I still get breakouts on my  skin. This retails at £13 so my bag was definitely worth the price I paid for it.
This is also another full sized product. I do like Jelly Pong Pong but they are expensive. This is a wearable colour and I will use it as an eyeliner. It retails at £10.50 which I would not repurchase at that price. I could get a top, ring and ruffly socks in Primark for that price.
I don't mind receiving perfume samples as long as they are pleasantly scented ones and this one is as I have used it before . 50ml would cost £38.50.
I'm not really a fan of So...? scents at all but as it is a small can and a bodyspray I'm sure I will get good use and use it up quickly. I've just sprayed it and it's actually nice ! I think it's because it reminds me of growing up as a teenager and I didn't like them then either! However smelling them again has made me change my mind a little. This product would only be £1.69 if it was a full sized product at 75ml. I received 50ml.

So that was my unboxing.

 Which is your favourite item?

Beauty UK, Benefit, JvG, Maybelline, Bourjois, Urban Decay FOTD

After accumulating quite a lot of beauty items I thought I would kill two birds with one stone , so to speak, and try out two of my new products which I bought and received in my Miss Glossy box. This bag of beauty products contains 4 or 5 high street beauty products. I love high end items but also love high street ones too, discovering gems and trying out new colours.

The two products I decided to try on my 'face of the day' were the Beauty UK posh pout ( a twist-up tinted lip balm ) £2.99 and JG/ JvG make-up collection soft touch eyeliner 10 - waterproof £6.95

I am incredibly impressed with both of these products and would definitely repurchase again. The Beauty UK posh pout I have in shade 3 which is 'Power to the Purple' although on the sticker it says purole. I didn't even know what purole meant!
I thought it was a lip crayon and with the excellent creamy pigmentation I didn't realise it was a tinted lip-balm until I  looked closely at the crayon . The lip crayon glides on effortlessly and it is easy to apply whilst leaving a lustrous colour. The purple elements gives the pink an impressive kick in the right direction. I really want to try out more of these products and see what the rest of the range has to offer too.

I'd never heard of the brand JvG before and after researching I found it on MONU professional skincare and it's used for bridal make up too. The eyeliners are available in a range of shades too but I'm glad I received the black shade as it's more wearable for everyday for me personally.
I have a collection of eye liners and I only wear ones that are soft and easy to apply as I can't stand ones that drag or are hard and pencil crayon like. I get rid of them straight away if that's the case. However this one is a dream to apply and has a really strong colour. I'm not sure about it being waterproof as it came off easily but then again it didn't streak in the rain though either! I forgot about it being waterproof to be honest.

Products I used.
Here are the products I used. I love Benefit and the Fake Up works really well and is moisturising. Mine is in the shade 02 Medium. I've hit pan on my Coralista Benefit blusher! I tend to wear this everyday and it has lasted absolutely ages so it works out great value for money.
I've had this Maybelline mascara pulse perfection stashed in my drawer still in its packaging. It reminds me of an electric toothbrush and putting it near your eyes! I also use the Bourjois chocolate bronzer. I don't wear foundation unless it's a night out somewhere.
Love this Urban decay palette I use it everyday!

I adore Urban Decay

Beauty UK Posh Pout

Power to the Purple

Soft touch eyeliner

Lip balm shade

Creamy formula

All products used together.
I absolutely love the Beauty UK posh pout. Look at the colour! <3

NYC - Times Square NOTD

I received this New York Color- (NYC) polish in my Miss Glossy box that I subscribe to and I actually had enough points from completing the surveys to order one for free. I love this box as it's more colourful and fun than the original Glossybox.
I don't tend to gravitate towards red polishes and I wouldn't choose to purchase one either but seen as though I got it in the little bag I thought I would try it out.
I do really like the vibrancy of the red as it's really bright and I much prefer this shade to say a deeper one. It will go perfectly with a red lace dress I bought a few weeks ago that I showed in my haul.

Packaging:
A glass bottle as the norm with a black plastic lid with the logo implemented on it. The logo on the bottle is easy to spot and looks professional but nothing special. The brush is standard and quite thick as polishes were in the past.

Price:
$1.99 So they are cheap and cheerful. So for that price they are great to stock up on a range of colours.
You can buy it in the UK on e-bay from this shop here

Performance:
As I said the brush is quite thick set and picks up lots of polish which drips. It's hard to get the perfect amount to paint your nails and it ended up rather messy.
Although looking at the photos that is the effect of having only one coat on so with two it would probably have more even coverage.
For the price they are a good product to update with colours that are fun or to add a pop of nail art.
As with other nail polishes that I apply, the day after they have started to chip on the ends slightly.
I love the fact they are American as even just that fact makes me want to try out more shades.
The NYC polish brush - close view.

Do you own any of these polishes?

Miss Glossy September / October unboxing

Super excited to receive my Miss Glossy bag this morning. This one is aimed at a younger audience and is available every two months. I love this one and think I prefer it to their Glossybox because it's colourful , fun and more suited to my personality.

The bag colour changes each month. Previously I have been delivered a green and purple one.
I actually got this one free this time for filling out reviews on their website and earning enough Glossydots which is a great incentive.
Included inside I received;

 Katy Perry Killer Queen 1.5ml sample. 50ml £29.50, 100ml for £38.50
"This new, strikingly gorgeous fragrance captures Katy Perry's rebellious spirit while throwing convention to the wind. Killer Queen is a charming playful Floriental fragrance."
I prefer Miss Glossy perfume samples as the Glossybox ones seem to be more mature. This perfume smells gorgeous and I would consider purchasing this. I was pleased with this as it's brand new out and I would have tried this out in a shop too.

JvG Soft touch eyeliner £6.95 full size. I've not heard of this brand before and when I tried it out it has a soft texture which makes application super easy. Even though I have lots of eyeliners I'm pleased that I got this as it reminds me of a Bare Minerals one that I had which was super soft and great to apply. It also is meant to be waterproof too which is an added bonus full of staying - power.

Skinetica Anti-blemish Gel Full size of this would be £6.99 for 80ml. This claims to calm and clear skin blemishes within 2-3 days, is suitable for all skin types and also acts as a supertoner and a base for make-up. I can't wait to try this out as from trying out different face creams from my selection,  one of them has made my skin break out a bit so hopefully this should clear it up.

NYC Nail polish in the shade Times Square 9.7ml for only £1.79 . I've just bought a red dress so this will look perfect with it. It is meant to be quick drying polish too so I will test it out. I don't usually go for dark colours and reds but it is perfect for this time of year and will change my colour scheme up a bit.

I also received from the  NYC brand - Showtime nail art in the shade 002 Silverism. This will be great for applying details on nails as it has a long thin brush and would be perfect for creating details on Christmas nails.

Beauty Uk posh pout Full sized products at £2.99. I received shade number 3 'Power to the purole' which I'm pleased about as I will wear this colour. These are meant to be highly pigmented with intense moisture to provide a strong, long-lasting colour.

Ooo and almost forgot. I received a double compact mirror with Gabrielle Aplin advertised on it to advertise her album 'English rain' This will be handy to keep in one of my handbags as you can never have enough mirrors.

Overall I'm really pleased with this box for the third time in a row. It makes me smile, excited to receive it and it's fun and colourful. Another plus point is that it only costs £7 and it comes out every two months. I hope they keep this one going as previously bought a Glossy Box- male version and this was discontinued.
