Afternoon Tea at Le Monde Edinburgh

Hello everyone,

I think I have a thing for afternoon teas. I just love the selection of cakes and sandwiches with the pot of tea or coffee. I love the arrangement of them and the cake stands.
Here is an afternoon tea review in photos from Le Monde on 16 George St, Edinburgh which I went to with my lovely mum. This was before I dyed my hair dark and looking back at the photos, I miss my blonde hair.

The decor in this place is absolutely gorgeous and screams luxury. At first when we went in and asked for a table the two girls near the front door looked at though we had asked a strange question. After a few minutes we were taken through to the back for a table and we were served efficiently after this.

The afternoon tea is served from 2pm until 6pm daily and was priced at a reasonable £10.95 per person or £15.95 if you wanted Rose wine instead of the tea selection.

Look how gorgeous the decor is!

I love the pinky purple coloured lights. It was quite dark inside and was lit by candles on each table.

The sandwiches were on regular bread and plain looking. They were filled with a selection such as roast ham, cheese salad and chicken tikka which I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy but are quite plain for a fancy place.

The cake selection included fruit tarts, fresh scones with cream and jam and some sort of sponge cake.

Oh blonde hair I miss you! Although it's a lot less maintenance dark and has grown more.

The stand that it arrived on was metal and contemporary looking which is different from the traditional cake stands.

Overall I loved the atmosphere and luxe decor of this place and the afternoon tea was good. I wouldn't dash back to have it again but would go for some cocktails and try something else.

Do you enjoy afternoon teas? I'm still on a mission to try them all!

Tangle Cherub hair brush review

Hello everyone!

It's so sunny here today that it's made me feel even better today. I always feel really motivated when the sun is out and it makes me want to accomplish things.

A few weeks back I spotted this gorgeously designed brush and I had to have it. It's the Tangle Cherub which is in a more compact size than the Tangel Angel and is meant for children. Anything to do with hearts, the colour pink and angel wings and I am attracted to it. I think this is the most gorgeous brush I have ever laid my eyes upon.

The Tangle Cherub is available in three different colours. These being the pink that I have , a gorgeous baby blue colour and a silver. Not only is it gorgeous to look at it but it also has beneficial properties too such as antibacterial additives, a contoured base, anti-static properties and heat resistant bristles.

I need Tangle brushes for my hair especially with it being wavy. If I wear my hair up it tends to tangle so easily and when I come to wash it, I can't run my fingers through my hair easily. I brush my hair after it's been conditioned and that way it is left tangle free and smooth.

The brush is meant to stand up too but mine doesn't seem to want to. The base must not be completely flat so I keep it in the pretty box that it is packaged in. Also as it is travel sized the handle is shorter but my hands are small so it's fine for me to use.

I used the Tangle Cherub when I showed you how the heart bun from Claire's works and it left my hair feeling really smooth and glided through my hair really easily. I would highly recommend this product if you like beautiful brushes and your tangles to be tamed.

Price: £10.95. Now I know that there are much cheaper alternatives out there but for the design and the performance this is worth every penny.

Accessorize iPhone / iPad button stickers

Hello everyone.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! The sun has been shining here today and that instantly makes me feel good. My weekend was spent mostly relaxing and enjoying M&S food which was scrumptious.

Today I have some Accessorize button stickers to show you. I received these as a gift for my Birthday and was not aware that they did anything like this before I received them. I can no longer find them on Accessorize's website but I just typed iPhone button stickers into Ebay and there's so many to choose from on there.

In this pack there were 6 little button stickers to choose from and they are adorned with butterflies, hearts or flowers. The stickers are raised too so they actually feel like a little button.
I used one for my iPad Mini and one for my iPhone and they were both easy to apply. If you don't apply it correctly first time perfectly on the button they were easy to correct by sliding along.
The buttons have been measured accurately so that they fit perfectly and I like the way that they add a little decorative feature.

Love Heart Hair Bun Review

Happy Friday everyone,

I hope you are all well and that you have a lovely weekend.

So for one of my New Year's Resolutions I wanted to try out different styles with my hair. I usually just leave it down or pop it up into a high loose curly bun.
I saw that Claire's had a heart bun maker and I loved it straight away. I adore hearts plus it gave me something new to do with my hair.
I love hair products and hairstyles so I ordered one for my Birthday. I thought that this would be a great style to wear to work so that my hair was styled away from my face or equally I would wear it out for the weekend too. You could wear this super tight and sleek or pull out a few strands for a more bohemian look too at the front of your face. I prefer to have a few strands and a jewelled hairband too to make it more glamorous.

The brand is Scunci, which when I researched they do regular bun sets too and lots of bobbles and clips.

Inside the kit you get a heart foam piece which is very sturdy so will last, 2 Scunci hair bobbles and kirby grips in black. (If you have lighter coloured hair I would definitely swap to gold clips that you already have or else these will stand out.)

On the back of the box there are clear, step-by-step instructions to follow. These were really easy to follow and after a quick glance were pretty self explanatory.

So first I pulled my hair into a high pony and secured with a band. I then pulled my hair through the foam heart and made sure it was the correct way around. I used some hair oil to give shine and try to help with any fly-aways.

You then rearrange your hair until the heart is covered. I did this by twisting my hair around as though it was going to be a regular bun and distributed hair to any gaps that I could feel.
I then secured with another hairband to hold it tight and then used the kirby grips to neaten it up and further secure.

I then tried to take about 500 pictures of the heart bun and ended up with photos of the walls, Alfie and the curtains! It's so hard to take a picture of your own hair do.

Here is the finished result. I think it looks gorgeous and seems the perfect size.

I used my new Tangle- Teezer to neaten my hair up further and it glided through effortlessly and smoothed my hair. Here I have had the style for a few hours and you can see that it is a little looser and not as tight.

I needed to twist it slightly as it's a bit wonky!

Overall I love it and it makes a cute, unique hairstyle. It took less than two minutes to create too which is great if you need to get ready quickly.

Tony Moly and Etude House sweet little picks

Hello everyone,

Today I am showing you what I received a little while ago in my stocking at Christmas. I absolutely love Tony Moly and Etude House products. They have the most aesthetically pleasing cute items and I want them all. I am drawn to cute items and you can see a theme here that I have gone for all pink (My favourite colour.) Not only are they super cute to look at, they are also fab products to use too.
I will show you what I have so far and then do swatches and reviews in future posts. All of the items were from Ebay and ranged from £2 up to £6 each. I received a few samples with the orders too which are always great to receive.

As they are so cute I like them sitting pretty and haven't got around to using them. This is one of the reasons that I started to blog as I needed to enjoy items and it encourages me to actually use things. It's no good if they are all dried up and I didn't get to enjoy them so that's what I think to myself no matter how pretty something looks.

These are the five items that I have; three lip products, one nail polish and a solid perfume bar.

This is a Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar. Look at the the little ears and face! This smells of strawberry and is in the shade 01.

Tony Moly - Hello Bunny Perfume bar- This one is in Dodo Rose. It has a pop off lid and the scent smells gorgeous straight away.

Tony Moly Fruit Princess Gloss in strawberry. Look at her little face! It makes me laugh! Her strawberry head unscrews and the lipgloss is contained in the pot at the bottom with an attached brush.

Etude House Kissful lip care in 02 Strawberry. I love the packaging and the doll head on the front. Unfortunately my puppy ran off with this and bit the packaging! This a lovely scented strawberry lip balm.

Finally I have an Etude Housepink ice cream nail polish. The packaging is amazing and I really want the full set!

Do you have any of these items?

Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy - Couture essentials set review

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I have a Juicy Couture set in Viva La Juicy that I received as a Birthday present from my mum and dad. I love the Juicy Couture brand and used to have a gorgeous baby blue and pink handbag with charms on it and I've always wanted the perfume too.

As I opened the wrapping paper I was really delighted as this was a surprise. I absolutely love this kit and have never seen one with all of the make up in too. I'm not entirely sure where it was bought from as it was a gift but am sure after a quick Google it will be trackable.

Inside the box there is a Viva La Juicy eau de Parfum spray, a gorgeous cosmetics bag, a stiletto charm, a nail lacquer duo in pink and black and an Eau De Parfum roller ball with a pink lip gloss.

The box that it is packaged in is well designed, bright and I'm going to keep it as the back  of it looks great for displaying.
The lipgloss is of great quality and has a sheer pink to it whilst the rollerball is perfect for popping into your bag for a refresh of Parfum.
.

I love the design of the Juicy Couture bottle and the scent is gorgeous. It has top notes of juicy mandarin and wild berries, heart notes of honeysuckle, gardenia and jasmine petals with base notes of amber, caramel woods, praline, vanilla and sandalwood.

I really like the colour of this cosmetics bag and it will be handy to keep the roller ball and lipgloss in on a night out.

The charm is a super cute stiletto and is boxed. I'm impressed with the quality of the item too.

This is one coat of the polishes and they are incredibly opaque and applied so smoothly. The colour really compliment each other too so I will wear them both at once with accent nails.

I love this kit and think that it makes a fantastic gift.

Pixi by Petra- Tinted Brilliance Balm- Rosy Red

Hello everyone,

Today I have a lip crayon to show which is by the brand Pixi. I love lip crayons as they smooth onto the lips easily and add colour and moisture. This particular tinted brilliance balm is by Petra who is a make up artist.

There are eleven different shades in total that I spotted on their website and retail at £12 each. They have some really gorgeous shades and I would love some of the others too. They are not tested on animals which is a definite plus point.
I love the sound of Unique Pink as it reacts to the own PH level in your lips and provides a unique shade on different people. It reminds me of the Moroccan lipstick that I reviewed.

The balm states that it provides hydration which it definitely did on my lips. They felt really nourished and smooth and this will be from the added shea butter.
From my shade Rosy Red I got quite a strong colour rather than sheer and I was impressed with how  long it lasted for.
It also contains lip-plumping hyaluronic acid which I didn't really notice on my lips to be honest. I noticed the colour a lot more and loved how it complimented my hair colour.

I do like the packaging and branding, not overly so where I need it to look good on my dressing table, but enough to know that it is of good quality.

The tinted balm has a twist up bottom which I love as you just twist up the amount you need then twist back down and pop the lid back on. I don't like products which need a sharpener as it requires too much effort!

Overall I love how smoothing and nourishing the tinted balm feels on my lips and would purchase another in a pink shade.

Have you tried any Pixi lip products?
